I love these movies where they get these really freaking looking people to play the creepy parts. As soon as i started watching this I knew I would love it! Thanks!
That's funny, Elisha Cook Jr. and the Gas Station guy (Michael Dierkop) were both in a Star Trek episode about Jack the Ripper called "Wolf in the Fold".
Interesting looking. Something Lynchian or Lovecraftian about it...
You have to be a real d bag to come here and rag on the quality of free material instead of watching your "mastered DVD...in full CinemaScope 2.35:1." For those of us who have yet to purchase it, this is a very nice find, and we are grateful. Any complainers can go EAD. Thank you, please pull forward to the second window.
This video badly sucks. If you like the movie, buy a mastered DVD, because "Messiah of Evil " is in full CinemaScope 2.35:1 - here the picture is cropped... then it looks like crap, just look at the colors. No wonder it's free, it's shit.
A real gem of hopelessly overlooked early 70s indie horror, right up there (in its best scenes, at least) with Sisters, Martin and Let's Scare Jessica To Death. Some of the 'living dead' stuff is very post-Romero but this movie boasts a visual inventiveness with such material that's all its own. Indeed, the deadpan surrealism of the film often suggests the Lynch of 'Inland Empire' more than any conventional genre flick. A real treat: don't pass it by! (Overlook the theme song!)

it is like prince of darkness or the fog...without carpenter. carnival of souls and repulsion are also much better. dead and buried is also better.
