Wrong, the exit delay lets the system know you have left the home. He didnt leave so there was no signal telling it to arm itself. This confuses the sytem causesing mistakes like the cell phone not being called.

That system is crap get a wireless one either a honeywell or GE simon XT and dont ever have your security system with wires hanging out thats why go wireless with a cell back up just in case your phone line gets cut and i prefer you go with a monitoring company e.g Brinks ADT or ASG etc...

sheaner18 there should be battery back open the door where it has the printing nexxtech above the keypad and there should be a place where you can put in wired sensors and above that should be the battery compartment i have the exact same brand but when i relocated the system i took the keypad off the wall and i tryed to arm it in home and it armed why do you think the battery light is there under the armed light?(with all do respect)

right, but if the phone wires are cut, there are no signals sent...it has to dial out....the only way to stay safe is to have cellular backup, not battery backup. and what happens if you cant answer your phone when it rings.....who's helping you then???

i disaremd it to fast the first time hennce why it didnt start calling out to my cell phone i think it has a 5 second dial delay i know changed that to 2 seconds:)
