That was a '69 GTO...It had (most likely) a 400CI small block, factory rated at 350bhp-375 bhp (RAM AIR IV cars). It was one of great muscle cars of it's time. As for true dyno HP, I don't know...but, it's sufficient to say that manufacturers routinely under reported horsepower for insurance reasons. Ya gotta love those greedy insurance companies! NOT!
@GTRaycer pontiac never made a small block anything, all pontiac motors have basically the same external dimensions, the size difference came from bore and stroke measurements.a pontiac 326 350 389 400 421 428 455 pretty much are identical externally, except different motor mount locations and timing covers on some different year models

GTO stands for Gran Turismo Omolagato. For you toyota fans SR5 stands for syncronized reverse 5 speed. If your toyota is an automatic it can't be a sr5.
It's a great car, who knows what the real HO numbers are however 370hp was around what it should have stock. The puff of smoke at the end was not normal, rad leak? Most people wont mod up a GTO for HP because of the "orignal" factor. My 72 GTO is however.
dads 69 judge has either a 455 orf 454 bored over 65 , so its about a 520cubic inch motor. will bark the tires in 3rd and 4th gear. too bad hurricane ivan knocked a tree over on it tho. no tire barking for me :(
who the hell would compare italians or an evo to a gto? in '69 it was a rear wheel drive and big horse power. no all wheel, power anything. the factory "release" was stock 376 hp. they were truly rated somewhere about 425, i have heard. the torque could only be rivaled by a stout hemi. poncho proud.
An "EVO" is a car driven by 12-17 y/o that have 4wd and with about 20G they can do 13s. The people who drive them are mostly white talk useing "phone text" letters and have well off parents, they also have pants around the knees. Don't worrie about an evo they are slow :)
Everybody who thinks ferrari maserati and co. are the best cars must not know about what a real (american) muscle car is. I mean the sound of a 6.6 liter V8 is definitely more scary and amazing than the sound of a 4.3 l V10!

Quick lesson kiddo--each cylinder is bored .060 inch over for a total displacement increase of 14 cubic inches netting a 469 c.i.d. engine.
It's a bore increase of .060 inches, not a displacement increase of 60 inches.
Other than that, get the damn tree off the car and heat the tires up....
