Good shooting guys. I'm no expert with shotguns or geese, I'm a small game air rifle hunter. However wanted to ask about Canada Geese, do people ever take them with rifles (obviously not air rifles) but .22LR and upwards? Whats the consensus on that and the kill zone?
Whoa thats awsome i shoot on longton marsh or if not there i go on my mates duck ponds, hes got two. guess what, one pond gets teal and the other mallard!
cool just looked on google earth where you live and youre right at the top of lancashire, well have a look where Longton Marsh is on it, its a beautiful place!
I just bought my gun and got my licence in lancashire UK. I went to a clay pigeon shoot place and on my first attempt @ shooting a 12 guage i nailed 9/10 clays. they came out in 2's. the guy had said i was a natural so i said why not. Man its really fun. I shoot clays and wild birds. We eat everything we shoot or family members do. Nothing is wasted. Never tried rabbit before until i shot one. Its really good. Even skinned it myself using a vid of youtube :P happy hunting :)
What sort of shooting do you do?? Ive been shooting for about 3 - 5 years, it well good. Im only 14 tho, I bought a Beretta 686e sporting a few months ago, what sort of gun do you have?
Mate where abouts in Lancahire because i live there and do excactly the same things as you( caly birds and shooting a 12 bore also im amazing at it aswell plus i go on the marsh with my grandad !) i shoot on longton marsh and shoot clays at hesketh bank and longton. maybe we'll see each other one day on the marsh or in the olympics:) ! LMAO.
I shoot skeet up at Wrights lesuire in Warton up on the crag. its my cousins uncle so its pretty cool. The game shooting i had to pay for, £20 per bird so i dont do that as often... i'd rather get a syndicate going with a few shooters and maybee rent shooting rights on some good land somehwhere. My family has a 200 acre farm in nether kellet so i might ask em if i can go up there.
Nice shooting guys! As for the inquiry to the FAC (fire arm certificate) You only need one for a rifle in the UK. A shotgun certificate is really easy and cheap to get.
it is £50 for the licence and in a good county takes roughly 2 weeks to process. You require 4 passport photo's and a countersign by a proffesional. i.e. your doctor! Although if he charges you for it they will not accept it. Then all that is left to do is fit a secured gun cabinet in your house. Police check it and presto
Ive got an co2 gun. Goes threw pigeons and rabbits so its or8. We cant just shoot anywhere though, and all that shit you have to go through to get a decent gun. My neighbour has shotguns, handguns and allsorts if he got caught hed be looking at 10 years. Thats what i meant when i said you cant just go out and do this kind of stuff here.
You can but you need a license, they cost shit loads and you have to go on courses and stuff first. If you get caught with unlicensed firearms the jail sentence is up to 10 years and he must have at least a dozen.
If you have a compact .22 and you're on public land then you hav'nt got much chance of getting caught because they dont make much noise, and the rangers are usually fat bastards anyway so they wont catch you.
Pretty poor shooting!

spire1997 3 years ago
Oh yeah.
We can only shoot on private land.
You can own shotguns and black-powder handguns legally ? so why would he be looking at 10 years?
jellyking12345 3 years ago
You can but you need a license, they cost shit loads and you have to go on courses and stuff first. If you get caught with unlicensed firearms the jail sentence is up to 10 years and he must have at least a dozen.

Dude, a firearms licence costs £50. That is not "shit loads", if you call that shit loads then you must be a tramp.
Lol, the rangers and police will catch you because they can get DNA from ejected cartrige shells
jellyking12345 3 years ago
£50??? Are you sure? You have to have police checks, then go on courses to make sure your competant all of which you have to pay for.
DNA. lol. Give over.
spire1997 3 years ago
You dont need to go on any courses.
Yes the police checks your house but thats free. the licence cost £50 for a grant and £40 for a renewal.
Finger prints on the cartriges from when you loaded them ? lol, they could maybe.
jellyking12345 3 years ago
what country do you live in...it sounds pretty uptight about owning and acquiring firearms
