Thanks to liberal policy the world economy is crashing. We must do two things to stop the meltdown NOW!!! Firstly, we need to raise all payroll taxes 10% for one year. We also need to stop (right now) wasteful handout programs like medicare, social security, unemployment,, etc. and lower the minimum wage to $2/hr so we can compete with China. That is so insulting. I have $10 in the bank and I'm doing a freelance gig that is supposed to lead to a full-time job. My electricity is going to be turned off if I don't pay by January 4, and I don't know when I'm going to get paid. I have a master's degree, and I have lived in poverty ever since I moved out of my parents' house to get it, and my mom won't let me return. If Mr. Paul had his druthers, he'd dismantle the Dept of Education, Dept of Labor, the EPA, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and The Civil Rights Act of 1964. Those are just the things I can name from memory. Paul is a Libertarian, not a Liberal. There's a huge difference...

@cing5000 Libertarian versus authoritarian is how much the individual is regulated. Liberal versus conservative is how much the corporation is regulated. Ron Paul doesn't want to regulate corporations or people. Fascists want to regulate people, not corporations. People like Stalin want to regulate people and corporations. I want to regulate corporations, not people. Since corporations are deregulated anyway, I'd rather have Ron Paul over the Fascists. Then, at least gays can marry.

The only reason why the republicans don't support him, is because he actually IS a conservative. He wants ACTUAL conservative laws, not just laws which make the rich richer.
He wants to massively shrink government, and doesn't believe in evolution.

@ViciousRanger Ron Paul is a conservative libertarian, the only conservative libertarian in the Republican party. From my point of view, the Democrats are turning into conservative libertarians. I have to look far off into the distant right to see any US politicians. In the sense that the left tends to be more libertarian, Ron Paul is more left wing than the Democrats. Whether he truly is left of the Democrats, I can't tell. I'm from a country that actually is progressive.

@BrandonSchleifer well, he is really a conservative, he is as conservative as it gets, which is opposite of progressive. hopefully the republican party will wake up and realize the consistent conservative they always wanted is standing right in front of him, but i have a bad feeling that will not happen.

@DP3mo24hofosho - Not really. There have been progressive-leaning conservatives all over the industrialized world historically, even in the US. For example, Ike Eisenhower was a progressive-leaning conservative Republican. Same with Richard Nixon, to a degree (he was progressive on some economic issues but was very conservative politically and socially). Nixon even once said "We're all Keynesians now".
It sounds weird today though because the American GOP has chased out moderates since Reagan.

My parents are both hard-working, honest government employees who pay their taxes and live within their means. They've dedicated their lives to the educating the youth in this country and Mitt Romney, like the pompous ass that he is, complains that they're making too much money (they make about $60,000 each), yet he'd do anything to make sure that millionaires and billionaires, Wall Street crooks can continue to make money off the back of the middle class.
