Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Part 1

While i liked collecting the chaos emeralds, i've always thought that Super Sonic broke the flow of the 2d games. I prefer a challenge (as much a Sonic 2 and 3&K gives these days) and i feel that super sonic takes that away. What do you think?

whenever you go into the special stage, you lose things:

Inviciblity

Rings

Sheild (If there is an error)

it must have been a glitch but when i was going to all the special stages in sonic 2 and knuckles (knuckles ftw ) after each special stage it let me keep my rings for some reason

Play these in the options menu: 19, 65, 9, 17.

You should now unlock the level select screen. To enter it, hold A then press start.

Play these sounds from the level select screen: 1, 9, 9, 2, 1, 1, 2, 4.

When you want to select a level, hold A again and press start.

Presto! Debug mode!

why do you keep going back to collect rings? points purpose only or something?

You need 50 rings to go to a special stage. Since there's at least seven checkpoints in the first zone, I can collect all the chaos emeralds here and then abuse Super Sonic in the rest of the game.

I always though super sonic was a copy of a super saiyan from dbz. I mean originally sonic even had green eyes when he was super sonic but then they changed them to red in newer games featuring sonic like super smash bros. brawl.
