It's a matter of taste. So I don't think you should have any negative points just 'cause you expressed yourself. I believe his guitar playing it's his weakest point when compared to the dj, producer, record collector and composer skills.
In my opinion, the man has done beautiful albums. Bossa per Due, Jet Sounds, Other Directions and Rituals have a listen!
