A pointless video that does nothing to demonstrate the spectacular results from a good polarizing filter in the right conditions. They are best for bright sunlight where they make your skies deeeeeeeep blue and minimise water reflections, or in straight-on shots of glass in windows or cars where it removes all reflection....
yeah... going to have to agree with some of the other comments; you're doing it wrong. it looks like in your shots it was either too overcast or you forgot to rotate the filter properly according to your angle to the sun's light. bit of a fail. hope you figured it out!
A polarasing filter can make the sky really dark blue, providing the sun is at 90 degrees to the shooting angle, eg adjacent either shoulder to get maximum effect. If the sun is behind you, the effect is hardly noticeable - just a bit of useless info.
@alanstarkie2001 Thanks for making this point! My gf lent me her filter and I was disapointed in it's performance (I assumed it was a cheap one and was set to order a new one) ...Now I'm looking forward to trying it at different angles tomorrow.
haha the shots without the filter look better actually. The shots with the filter should bring out vivid darker blues in the sky. No sweat tho, what brand did you use? I just ordered a tiffen circular polarizer
Very informational... Informational as in now I know I don't need that filter. In my opinion it doesn't make too much of a noticable difference, at least not to buy. The same effect can be accomplished with some slight color corrector adjustments.
the one thing i did forget to show, which is one of the real use for that filter is, if your filming though a window and you have a lot of reflection off the glass, you spin the filter until the reflection is taken away.

looks like you are doing something wrong, because your results are not that dramatic. There should be a more dramatic difference in the two images.
