  • 28 dislikes, good Lord what's wrong with these people?!!!!!

  • @SteveMA1000

Perhaps they dislike the jerky mouse that made them click the wrong button

  • woo hoo! 1950s R&B!

  • Paul Oscher makes me crying

  • I thank god my Mom would always play this music back wen I was a kid. I used to freaking HATE it so much but after time it rubs off on you :)

Nothing more soulful then the blue, it expresses every emotion you can possible thing of Anger, Love, Happyness, saddness. I can listen to the blues in any mood Im in n thats exactly why I love it so much.

  • The Muddy Waters band: Paul Oscher (harp) , Otis Spann(piano), S.P. Leary ( drums), Pee Wee Madison,

Little Sonny, Muddy Waters, Snake Johnson

  • I'd like to take the film director and the camera operator and torture them and then kill them for that BS "in-and-out" zoom that they think is cool.

  • Ahhh the lovely immensely portable and ever popular harmonica.

  • You right they need to get a life

  • Who gives a damn if this guy is black or white!?! He's tearing the joint down! Is Youtube the new hub for racist to get there racist comments heard now?

  • Saw him perform back in the late 70's playing to a college audience and he had the crowd going nuts!!!!!

  • Get it Muddy!!!!!

  • Jesus people - do you really think Muddy had an affirmative action program? Or that his manager told him to hire a token white guy in order to sell more records? He hired Paul Oscher to play harp because he was GOOD (especially for 17 years old) . Nice version of this tune, although I do miss Willie Dixon on stand up bass. So glad this was filmed and saved and posted!

  • Don't look at the video and listen ... can you hear he is white (the harp player)!!! The man was tearing it up on that harp!

  • muddy?you in there?

  • I've seen Muddy play's right in front of me, and I knew then and I'm still know it after all these years that it was a privilege in my life and that we were just a few that could encounter this in our life.

O.K. I've seen him many times, and we had champagne together, but that's not the point. He was and still is the best guy I ever met.

  • Thumbs up if you hear this in 2011!!!!! ;)

  • @Masosoft 2012 my friend! ;)

  • what year?

  • It's not that they can't play the blues. But respect is due to where they got the sound, and homage is played. In europe musicians like Muddy Water's got the utmost respect for his craft. In the u.s., he was less revered, because of his skin.

  • can not believe people can find something at all bad to say about that harp player!! WTH????? Anybody even trying to knock those freaking chops is either jealous or very freaking jealous. Sweet Georgia brown man!!!! I am sure that guy pulled in more tail than fatsharks has baited to in the underware section of his mom's sears catalog. Although I am sure both did so nightly; respectively of coarse.

  • If the man couldn't play harp, he wouldn't be there with Muddy!!!

  • the harmonica player looks like George McFly from Back to the Future :)

  • white boy plays a mean harmonica

  • !!!

  • I thank my dad everyday for showing me the good music and protecting me from the modern crap!

  • Play that harp.

  • The guy on harp is Jerry Portnoy

  • The Brother on Harp has got a great tone!

  • @gewglesux lol he no brother, he's white

  • @Goryllo His name is Paul Oscher. And man who plays the blues like that I'll call brother

  • @Goryllo we are brothers in the blues!! i was jus being a smart ass!

  • managain

  • Who is the harmonica player?

  • the guy with the harmonica seems adolf hitler

  • @kinjo26 What do you mean, "Seems Adolf Hitler." ?

  • nice music

  • OMG!

Who's that tearin' it up on the Harmonica?

    I'm lovin' it.

  • @losaface4 he's great ain't he?

  • RIP Muddy Waters!!

  • It still was the first white person to ever play in Muddy's band. I know someone asked to leave the band performaing at Kingston Mines back in the day because of being white. Paul is still playing today, he's featured on an outcoming CD by Big Pete in October.

  • It aint about the white boy folks---it is about Muddy Waters!

  • 2011... and Skizzo still got my mojo workin. xD

  • You bunch of racist pratts... Music transcends.

  • when it comes to music, love and sometimes even warfare, things start to go colorblind.

  • @Stackpot Just like Forrest Gump... =0

  • Neville longbotton on the harmonica

  • ITS PAUL OSCHER YOU FUCKIN BITCHIES!

  • 25 mufugas ain't got their mojos working.

  • Everyone should know that the white guy on harp is Paul Butterfield who went on to form the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. He played at the Montery Pop Festival in 67 and he was a headliner at Woodstock in 69. His performance here was the first time a white harmonica player was filmed playing with a black musician. Just fyi.

  • @BadBoyMattyH I'm pretty sure thats Paul Oscher NOT Butterfield in the vid.

  • @BadBoyMattyH I'm pretty sure thats Paul Oscher NOT Butterfield playing Harp in the vid.

  • whats up with the white guy posts?? The blues is universal, I think he's great. He wouldn't be there otherwise.. I'd do the same if muddy asked me to play with them..To say you can't be white and play the blues is totally missing the point!!

  • @billybluester You're 100% right that blues are universal, but a lot of people are very protective of blues, especially since Eric Clapton continues to profit off black blues musicians and then turned around and went on a tirade against black people.

  • @billybluester lol true. ever heard of the blues brothers? lol

  • @billybluester amen to that. the only color blues has is blue

  • @billybluester No doubt. Pretty long list of white harp players. Musselwhite, Lee oscar, Mickey Raphael, ect.... All music is colorless. Good is good. bravo

  • @billybluester "whats up with the white guy posts??"

I don't know, a bunch of uniformed white guys posting, I reckon. This is the roots of rock.

  • @83shovel and check out the harp player- some white guys get it.

  • @MrMikenotts01 that harp player isn't a wanna-be anything, he wails on that thing. Lemme hear you play the harp, Mr Mike Notts, y' bitch.

  • @The DumbAssesTryinToPutDownThe HarpPlayer - When James Cotton left Muddy for a solo career, Muddy auditioned several candidates to replace him and picked the best of the lot: the fantastic Paul Oscher. Search for him here on YouTube, and learn something.

  • search for a local job careerstartlocation .info great paying positions

  • Good old Legendary Muddy Waters. He ain't father of delta blues ( correct me , if u think im wrong..) , but damn he's good. As a dropdeath metal maniac , i always liked his songs.

  • somebody shoulda stabbed the harp player in the larynx.

  • mud mud this is it as good as it can be mud muddont hurt me child mud

  • What year was this?

  • @snuffelsuf

    why you say so?

  • @alchococat hE DRAWS TOO MUCH ATTENTION TO HIMSELF WITH TOO MUCH HISTRIONICS. PLUS he's this overly tall out of place looking white guy. Maybe if he did less bouncing around : look at the harp player lee Oscar in War he's white but he doesn't seem as out of place

  • didn't know david tennant could play such a mean harp

  • the ya, the BMBLMUBMMLBBMB was a trademark Muddy used with that song. Loved it. Still love it.

  • anyone else surprised that the dude playing the harmonica is white?

  • Man that harp player is really going

  • i want some mojo...muddy took it all. >.> well played

  • youtube.com/user/3rdrealmtreehouse 'Lets Blues Out'

  • That white cat blowing mad harp is none other than 18 year old Paul Oscher playing with Muddy in Germany in 1968.The rest of Muddys killer band was: OTIS SPANN, SP. LEARY, PEE WEE MADISON, SONNY WIMBERLY, MUDDY WATERS AND LUTHER "GEORGIA BOY SNAKE" JOHNSON - GERMANY 1968

  • what an harmonica player,yeah!

  • any one know who the harp player is

  • @MSABZKEBABZ the great Paul Oscher ;-)

  • Someone stole my Mojo!

  • Paul Oscher played with Muddy Waters 1967 - 1972. Quote from P. Oscher website. . . In the mid-l960s Paul met Muddy Waters back stage at the Apollo Theatre and in 1967, when Muddy came to New York without a harp player, Paul sat in with the band. He played two numbers: "Baby Please Don’t Go" and "Blow Winds Blow." Muddy hired him on the spot.

  • Anybody know what YEAR this clip was made?

  • fuck this is better than any pop music out there. blows it away.

  • Just watched a Martin Scorsese flick and got the urge to listen to some Muddy! His music appears in a few Scorsese flicks

  • when is this?

  • OMG Muddy, pure blues greatness.

Paul Oscher's skin maybe white, but I'm pretty sure his soul is black.

  • @monslayer Yup! That white boy sure can play that thang!

  • What can I say, He's the man... (mannish boy?)

  • Paul Oscher.

  • what key is his harmonica in? i can't quite tell through his awesomeness

  • @spudvader86 really it doesn't sound like it, do you think he has altered with a few of the reeds or something?

  • @acdcjonnyboy To be honest with you i'm not a harmonica player, i was talk to my brother about this exact video the other week and how it sounds a bit different, i said that it wasn't C but he said it was. He took me to a website that said it was, the conclusion that we came to was either it was recorded poorly (cause it's old) to the mic is slightly distorted (cause it's old). Either way we might b wrong but i hope this helps : )

  • @spudvader86 oh! lol thanks mate! its been doing my head in too trying to work out what key its in lol! but yeah probably either been tampering with the notes or like you say its a bad mic or record or something lol! thanks :)

  • @acdcjonnyboy I ment to say that my brother IS a harmonica player.

  • GOT MA BMBLMUBMBMMBLMBMUBMMB WERKIN!!!!!!

  • im diggin the harmonica. only white guy and hes shredding that thing

  • @dcdrewco That is Paul Butterfield on harmonica...

  • @ATacey13 not butterfield. butterfield after 66 always used a shure 545 or a shure pe54 microphone, and butterfield had darker hair. it is paul oscher.

  • The blues has always been sort of underground. just like not many kids our age know them, alot of old people don't either. that is why it's so powerful. the blues is still alive. and that era never faded into the past, the blues is alive in us. it's in your soul, and your spirit, and your heart. it's in your perception of things. we are the blues. it lives, in us...

  • Anyone know what guitar mr waters is playing? it looks like a fender jaguar with a les paul custom neck but the headstock don't look gibson hmmm

  • ...Study Mijo...folks...otherwise you miss the point.....

  • Gotta love Muddy <3 His blues music got the mojo of rock & roll workin' meng.

  • Anyone know who the harp player is?

  • @feniandan

    Paul oscher!

  • @feniandan I believe that is Jerry Portnoy.

  • To the 22 people who disliked this song. The next time you don't like something , unless it is a video of a puppy being punched, just stop watching the video.

  • Thank you! Good to know that he's still going strong! <3

  • Who's the white dude on the harmonica? Just curious. This is some DAMN good music! Thanks for posting!<3

  • @redwoodrebelgirl dude on the harp is Paul Oscher! Still playing and still GREAT!!

  • i'm with you man !! fuck all that mindless shithead music its nothin but a DISEASE THATS KILLING THE SOUL OF THIS COUNTRY!!!!

  • I love playing Muddy on the internet juke boxes in bars today, trying to introduce the blues to a mostly naive populace. First saw Muddy in 1970 with Pinetop, James Cotton and Willie Big Eyes Smith. Never forget the feeling that night. Keep the blues alive any way you can.

  • i wished i experienced blues era too..

    all alone?

no with the 2082 who love it !!!!!!!

  • its sad that this video doesn't have more hits but oh well all the true music/ blues lovers know what's up!!

  • I wish more kids loved blues like I do :( , buddy guy and bb king and muddy waters and son house and Robert johnson and big bill broonzy and Johnny shines and mempis slim, and such , it's all so soulfull and meaningfull , unlike many other types of music !! I'm glad I have blues music in my life , I don't know were I'd be without It !!!

  • @13Musicmachine I feel you man, Charlie Patton, Fred Mcdowell, Bukka White, and Blind Willie Johnson are the greatest players who have ever lived. People say Elvis is the king of rock n roll...but I say Muddy Waters is and still is the king. I was the only kid in my school who listened to blues, and I wish the next generations do not forget about the blues.

  • great footage, truly inspirational

  • How can you possibly not love this great old footage !!

  • Heart and soul of Rock N' Roll. You can't compare to Muddy Waters.

  • 22 bieber fans can go to hell

  • @hnh4 I'm 15 and i hate everybody..lol jk..

    But this is awesome..

    If you're a blues fan watch &qu
