Good ending is technically people might live, and all the conduits will die. Bad ending is non-conduits will most likely die and conduits will live. The only way to gaurantee any survivors was the bad ending. If you didn't have to kill Zeke or Nix, I would say it was the happier of the two endings. Almost seems like they added that in order to make it the bad ending.

Bad ending: Cole becomes the beast (still alive)

Good ending: Cole dies but gets struck by light ressurecting him (and the lightning bolts in the ending was in the shape of a 3 and question mark)

@Incaron If you notice at the last cutscene in the good ending, a flash of lightning drops down on the boat where Zeke and Cole's body are. This lightning could've possibly revived Cole...But thats what I think.

No he was on top of the church. It would have to be a lead lined room if anyway but that's assuming ray feild energy is blocked by lead like radiation is. Considering that it's doubtful one was present and sicne the RFI affected places all around the globe it's the only logicl answer that zeke simply isn't a conduit. Plus if you sense i nthe game some peopel who have the plague also have this yellow stuff i nthem too I beilve that's the conduit gene zeke lacked that when cole looked in him.

This game really captivates, the morals of life. Be a bad guy and get what you want, you don't deserve what you get and all you care about is yourself. Be a good guy and you will ultimately be screwed in the end, and never given a break.

Why lose your life for a couple billion people? Then again, Why not? Its really just amazing how this game puts life, the law of life, in a way, into perspective of the same person in 2 different situations.

@Chris555Chris Very good points. However, I don't really see this ending as EVIL. Cole didn't know if the RFI would actually cure the plague, so activating was a leap of faith(Good Karma ending). At least if he joins John he knows that at least the conduits will survive and THEY will see him as a savior.

Both endings are rather sad ,but joining John was the smarter choice. Still you would have to be VERY brutal to travel the world creating conduits, but killing those who couldn't become ones.

Though I see where your coming from, the part that makes it truly evil is how he exterminates non-conduits after becoming the beast. Also on a Sidenote, I believe Cole is the beast from Infamous 1. It may have been that Kessler was actually talking about himself(Cole) becoming the beast and not being able to overcome the power he receives, falling to the evil side and killing humanity.
