Same here! It was titled as Mogwai by Nick Drake... I just assumed it sounded too much like Mogwai, and must have been the other way around. Plus, Mogwai wasn't around by the time Nick Drake left us...

it's only on a compilation album called "the carve up" which was compiled by XFM dj "kool" keith cameron and released on xfm's own label (i think) in 1999. difficult to get hold of now. they've played it live a few times....

That's not entirely true. There's a version of "Nick Drake" on the Peel sessions from 17.10.2001, only this version is much more piano oriented. Very nice tho.

Also, you can find this version on the fan compilation "Rare, Covers and early tracks" among other ratities. It's been circulation on the net for quite some time now (atleast i think it's fan made)

yeah, i was at that peel session (won a place on the guestlist - just 30 people - via mogwai's website!) but it's never been officially released which is why i mentioned the other cd that has been. i keep forgetting that these days you can get virtually anything that's ever been recorded ever from somewhere off of the internet!
