men someone should make a tutorial on how to do this its soo cool lol owuld that make a cool lamp to have in your house or something haha or idk if that lights dim but even a night light if it is dim ha
Electromagnetic |nduction is well known to empirical science, but getting usable quantities of light by this method does both require energy loss and energy consumption. Electromagnetic induction is not free of energy consumption. Of course, applying a load, in circuit, will draw a current. Still, it is fun!
I don't know how my video ended up here, but you can see my version by clicking my username. If you go to my website, bea . st , you can see detailed technical information. This is no fake. -jeff
Have you ever heard of electromagnetic suspension? Go look it up, it's quite amazing. Did you know that Maglev Trains never even touch their rails. Instead, a powerful electromagnetic current keeps the train hovering above the tracks and enables it to reach speeds of 300+ miles per hour.
An electro magnetic field strong enough to make and ipod "float" would also render it a useless piece of eye candy, since it would erase the memory, both of the hard drive style larger ipods and the flash memory of the shuffles etc. sorry.
to corrupt or erase data from flash memory, the magnetic field would have to be strong enough to suck the iron out of your blood. Even harddrives arent as susceptible to magnetic fields as most people think. A lightweight ipod could be floated magnetically without any ill effects, if you so desired.

Obviously the light is CGI or fake because thier is no way to make anything float without something like air pushing it up

maybe wee should redesign harddrives.

Let me know when you have a working prototype. I'll be glad to take some profits off of your hands.

A "HAL" sensor is cheaper to run than a laser and will keep the bulb stable with a much longer life span than a diode :)

Its a good start to a new soon met discovery I think.
I'm not sure light bulbs is all that can be used with this invention...maybe we can find other uses. Until then, I'll wait patiently for it. ^^
