Apparently Cameron (director) temp scored the film with this piece of music. He then approached Enya to write music for the film, but she bailed out when she realised that she was only asked to write a song (and not the score). Horner then wrote the final score, but was more than inspired by the temp one (Enya's song) if you ask me.
Did you know this when you posted this clip, or do you simply think that you - without realising it - made a connection between this music and the movie?
This song was gonna be the song they used when Jack screamed Im the King of the world! they had even asked Enya herself if they could use it but she said No imagine if she did say yes would Celine Dion be as big a star as she is now????????
I don't know why the film industry would want you to take this video down anyway. It's a credit in editing. The words fit excellent with the scenes. Great job.
This movie was so powerful, I think just about any decent score would have worked. Apparently James Horner wrote the sound track, not Enya. Although "Book of days" sounds totally appropriate for this movie. The actual singer for the Enyalike piece in the movie was Sissel not Enya. (This clip is Enya).
Filmtracks writes about some of the dispute over whether the (sounds like) "Book of days" similarity in the movie is too close too Enya's actual song.
@robertslistening You might be right, but I do think i remember reading that Cameron actually listened a lot to Horner's Braveheart score when writing the script for Titanic, and in that sense only Horner-like music would do (in the director's mind, that is).
By the way, I don't think that Sissel is singing in the Enya-like piece (if you're referring to "Leaving Southampton" which is the one track mimicking "Book of Days"). The chorus there sounds completely synthesized, no?
this song is very fitting for this video. When I think of the Titanic I imagine a song very similar to this one. You did a wonderful job on this video.
@master666110 Oh, I keep meaning to edit that. I'm afraid part 2 got taken down for copyright reaons, sorry. I'm working on another video to link from this however.
@7thSeekers Its saddens me how Cobh in Ireland was its last port of call. Thats probably what makes the town so popular, because the fated ship had paid it as its last stop. I live in Cork, the county Cobh is in. U ever been to Cobh?
No, but I'd love to go there, and all of the places related to Titanic, it would be so wonderful to visit. I'd certainly love to go and see the Harland and Wolff shipyards too
I like the fact that you based this Video on the ship herself and her crew. I remember having to do a massive report on the Titanic and the movie came out as I was working on it. so I was able to get more info. this was a really thought out work of art and the music fits it so wonderfully.

Regardless...this song fits perfectly.
