and the prove of u must speak english is, why they are all asking the question in english and not italian or german? BECAUSE ENGLISH IS THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE so respect tht

All pageants should be about beauty and (especially) brain, but how come most of the candidates don't even speak English during Q&A portion and need to ask for an interpreter? How would they be able to know if that person is the right one to be crown as Miss Universe if they don't even uses or speaks English!!! That's actually unfair to the other contestants...!!! The boards should change the rules about using an interpreter....!!!

@cfjemerald12 i totally agree.. organizer should change some of their rules. no more interpreters. if u want to join miss universe, then its a must that u should also know the universal language. my gosh that was so unfair! miss philippines answered it right there and then in english. while those other four had a chance to make their answers in their own languages sound so right and convincing because there's an interpreter that would organize and polished their ideas well, wasnt it?

@cfjemerald12 Interpreters are available eveywhere. Inclluding in this beauty constest. No people anywhere in the world should be forced to learn any foreign language, English included. We should respect everyone's original language, that's why the interpreter's presence..
