I always have loved this show. I still watch it almost every day from 5 PM to 6 PM on TV Land. Its great. It was very racy at times. But it showed what a real family is like. It was the definition of a " Sit Com ". A situational comedy. Now a days sit coms show hannah montana and stuff like that. That is nothing compared to this. The writing back in the day was so much better than today's garbage. There are a few good ones but most is garbage.
Back in it's day, this show was watched and enjoyed by every race, creed and color. Sad to say, it's become another casualty of Political Correctness.
It was supposed to be Astoria, Queens, which is west of Astoria Heights(or Upper Ditmars), north of Grand Central Expressway, and east of Hell's Gate Bridge and Triboro Bridge.
It was Astoria, Queens, New York. West of Astoria Heights, east of Hell's Gate Bridge and the Triboro Bridge, north of Astoria Blvd and Grand Central Expressway.(that's where the neighborhood is, as for the house, I've no idea).
they were supposed to live in jamaica, queens im pretty sure, but to be honest the footage of the houses could be from a variety of places, im thinking central brooklyn like around avenue K in the East 20s, although a lot of queens probably looks like that also.
I could never figure out why they centered in on a door that couldn't possibly be their door--the Bunkers had a PORCH--not a STOOP!
