Well u can reset the apps. You double click the home button and then u hold ur finger on an app on the bottom. It pops up a minus signs on the apps u been using and just press the minus. To save battery.

Push notifications actually doesn't drain the battery that much, unless you have tons of apps that use it. All it does is send small packets of information to and from a web server to check if there is anything to fetch, and it fetches it. (I might be wrong, but this is what I know)

@megafast13 There is no way to do that on a regular iPhone 3G, the only possible way to achieve a home screen background on it is to jailbreak it and download zToggle. Otherwise, during your jailbreaking process, it will ask you if you want home screen backgrounds alongside other features such as Multitasking etc.

When I play a game or something it really lags and responds to my touches shortly after I press the screen, this is especially a pain on rockband.
