  • Weird, I'm in beauty school and my instructor gave me the paperwork to fill out to turn into mac to become mac pro member, but it says it's only 10 dollars every 6 months. Could this be a hidden cost or a discount because I'm a student?

  • @Glowb0t you'd be getting a student mac card

  • im not that interested in the discount - i will gladly pay. i just want the pro products and i don't qualify for a pro membership, what do i do? :(

  • Hey EnKore ! I absolutely love and appreciate your vids and all they've done for me. I just wanted to ask you if just being on youtube using their products count as a an on air personality? or do you necessarily have to be some who"s paid to do this?

  • Hey enkore,

Just wondering if you could just tell me, I applied for macpro card, got an invoice on my payment (so guessing my application got accepted) buy how long after did you receive the card? Thank you if you can answer xx

  • great vid

  • models also get a mac pro card?

  • WOW

  • dang! man they should just make one were u pay and then get discounts!

  • enkore, you're very informative =) luv yah!

  • Do you get a discount at the mac counters?

  • nope only at freestanding stores and online!

  • u can get teh discount at MAC STOREs?? i thought it had to be mac pro stores... help help

  • NO..:( only at MAC PRO stores... so not even MAC stores will take the card.. MUST BE A MAC PRO STORE.. boo

  • so since I'm a college cheerleader/performer, does that apply?

  • i do freelance make up for clients which means that its pretty much cash in hand...what documents can i show?..thank you!

  • @Shrinkles1591

i also do freelance make-up, i just gave my business card and certificate along with the app form and a photo

  • Journalists also qualify too! I'm a journalist in the UK and i review alot of beauty products...therefore we are eligible. woo hoo! x

  • what documents did you show?

  • I'm soo jealous!!!!

  • Can I go to a MAC PRO Store and buy stuff just like that ? I wanna buy palletes and I can go to the PRO store.. but can I buy it like a normal customer or will they shoo me away ? :p

I dont have PRO Card and don't qualify either.

  • Yes you can, haha. They have the stores there for a reason and wouldn't shove you away just because you're not a professional. You can buy palletes at any MAC standing store though. :]

  • Cool, thanks for the answer :) Im one happy girl now ;)

  • You can. You just won't get a discount. Or you can call the Pro number and order products through that. You can run a search for it.

  • I didn't know you can order on phone! :O Gotta check that out ;) Cheers !

  • I heard exotic dancers can get a pro card because make up is a big part of the job.

  • love the elmer fud hat.

    aha

  • Thanks so much for this! I didnt know fashion designer could also have this card also!! and I'm one.

I would love to see you making makeup to a model.

  • I qualify for the 30%, but, as the makeup I buy would only be for my personal use, is it worth the annual fee? Would I save that much? Performers are way underpaid, even if they are union, and MAC is kind of expensive. Do you feel it's worth it?

  • as a Union performer myself, I totally hear ya. I think $35 a year is not bad, it pays back after a couple purchases with the savings you get depdning on what youre getting. Just think of your makeup consumption for the next year. If it helps you can also get makeup gifts for your loved ones and thats added savings.

  • hey koren,so you can only use the pro card at a pro store?

  • no, any freestanding MAC stores takes them too. Not counters like at Nords.

  • love the hat

  • I'm getting ready to start Cosmetology school at Gene Juarez, so i'm hoping I will qualify for this after I graduate =)

  • Is there an age limit on the MAC Pro membership?

  • there's no age limit listed - and I know under 18 kids performing here on broadway having PRO membership cards.

  • None :))

  • Wow, only $35? Not that bad. I'm trying to see if they have an age limit, lol.

  • in canada it cost me $40 a year. maybe because of the exchange rate. but my friend works in store and gets %50 off or something so i just use hers

  • They don't :))

  • ohh, my mom's a nail techie. i can get her to buy my stuff... then ofcourse pay her back.. would that work?

  • im a model can i apply ?

  • he listed model so yes.

  • Hey I got 2 loew cornell brushes. I love them. Thanks for the information.

  • My daughter dances extensively - ballet, hip hop, competitions, etc. Her makeu-up is key and often times the colors requested are mac products - she is a minor, though...could I apply for her?

  • He said dancers qualify for Preformers, so I'm sure that would work :)

  • competition dancers don't qualify, with the exception of Pro Ballroom. She needs to be employed and professionally getting paid for her dancing to qualify.

  • Yeah :))

  • ur adorable with your hat

  • hi Enkore your hat is awesome i'm gonna subscribe thanks and bye bye

  • sweet hat!

  • YAY im glad u listed this im a cosmo student and cant wait til i graduate so i can gain my pro card status 30% yay

  • your hat is too cute!

  • I think that was very nice of you to mention Viva Glam. You are such a sweet person.

  • can you please tell us about the poicy and things you need to work at mac! like if you need to go to cosmatogogy school or anything else please!

  • You dont need to be a cosmetologist to work at MAC - where it comes down to, its retail, So nature of retail business, proving you can SELL gets their attention more than what you can do to someone's face. So your artistry is just a supporting ability.

  • oh thank you sooo so so much! ytour a great help

  • could someone plz define "on-air talent" and performers please:)

  • on-air talent: radio talk host, TV host, news anchor, TV reporter...etc. Performers: Singers, Dancers, Actors, Musicians, bands...etc.

  • I was watching a video of yours-Palette Labeling- and i was wondering you got all those palettes i am semi new to makeup and i have questions like where you get palettes? How long it took you to get all of them? so much more and you seem like a really goor person to ask

    love you vids

  • You get them at freestanding MAC Stores

  • Palettes are being sold in MAC PRO Stores or ebay :p

  • I like your hat.

  • what do you mean other industry professionals....

  • He lists them in the video about halfway through...

    (:

  • it was listed on the screen..nail tech, model, photographer, etc

  • That's also what I wanted to know. I think you have to at least have a business card made up. You can make them yourself or get a pro to do it (it's expensive though!)

  • Its not about having a card "made up" if you are not an industry professional, don't apply because it's a discount you don't deserve.

  • true that !

  • Great information! I love your hat :-D

  • great vid! very informative, I love your accent haha are you canadian?

  • black list!? kind of reminds me of casino when ace told nicky he was find him self in the black book if he didnt stop.LOL love tha movie.

  • tnxs

  • can you be freelance? or actually certified, gone to school?

  • u can b freelance

  • You can also be a student (any beauty, performing though), you just get 20% once you become a prof then you can submit for pro =)

  • it sounds awesome but I don't qualify. :) Still interesting to hear about it. tks!

  • Ah btw...I have my MAC pro since about...half a year....what do I have to do after the year ? Just pay the again ? Or do I have to send my documents again ?

  • yes you just pay your renewal fee

  • hey i wanted to know if i could still shop at a mac pro store without having the pro card??

  • Yes you can. I went to new york for a weekend and I was able to get Pro products.

    Hope this helps :)

  • I fortunately have a Mac pro card but unfortunately I can't use muh benefits of it because...tehre is NO pro store in my area, there are NO masterclasses in my area, there are NO product parties in my area.....well, I'M glad I get at least the product discount...but I hope they start to invent MAC parties here in Austria as well :/ I'd be so curious what they are like

  • I'm an actress! I never knew that I could apply for a pro card. Thanks so much for this video Koren! Although I've only been paid once for a community theatre production I wonder if my work as a costume assistant in a professional theatre would count as well.

  • definitely give it a try - as long as you have the eligible supporting documents you should be able to.

  • i love mac.

sadly, there's not too many mac shops here in Argentina.

  • Aw, I would have been eligble for the 'others' since I'm a photographer but sadly there isn't a mac pro here in Singapore

  • they dont take discounts at MAC Stores? are there MAC stores in Singapore? or all counters?

  • Yeap there are MAC stores in Singapore but there aren't any pro stores here at all and the closes we've got is this one store that sells the empty palettes, eyeshadow pans and cream blushes. All the other mac stores don't carry that and I don't think they have this MAC Pro membership thing on over here.

  • my mom is a pro member she is a nail technician and they also do makeovers there .

  • love your hat! and thanks :) great video

  • hey koren how old do u have to be.

  • There is no age requirement.

  • what kind of performing did you do??

  • Broadway Shows

  • Hi Enkore,

DO you know if Australian citizins can apply for this?

I am looking at the website and cannot see anything relating to this?

  • in the Pro Site -- it says contact them for international applicants

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH.

    i get it now.

when are you going to scotland then?

just a warning - its been 0 degrees celcius to about -4 degrees c lately!

    merry christmass x

  • in a few days! oooh thanks for the heads up - I guess I need to break the really thick coats.

  • wohooo.

    im a circus member.

    but not professional :(

    i dont get paid...

just a circus for child acrobats...

  • I dont think that is at all fair, if the person has to pay for it then it shouldnt matter what he or she does for a living. they need to have something for other's to where they can get discounts but not take classes.

  • I sing for 2 gospel groups. 1 pay me and 1 dont. so you are telling me that the one that pay me I can use that to get a pro card until I get certified as a makeup artist?

  • yes, turn in your headshot, resume, and a letter of recomendation from you Director. When you get your MUA certificate, switch!

  • If your a student right now, would it be better to apply as a student first or just the regular card. Do you get any different benefits applying as a student?

  • what i did was applied for the student program. after i'm done with school, i'm going to apply for the pro card. and i think that students receive 20%.

  • another great and informative video =)

  • does an esthetics diploma count as documentation? I won't get my actual license until April.

  • Yes! that counts! - I will cover the documents in my next video. So stay tuned.

  • Thank You for the great information!Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

  • love the hat

  • Doe stripping count as a performer? LMFAO

  • Hey, Do they have mac pro cards in australia??

  • i believe they do

  • No i wish... I rang them up & they said its only for the US & Can... ;O( we r always left behind hey unfair!! lol..

  • whaaat they dont do it for the UK? :O!

  • Not even in Asia, especially in Malaysia? :(

  • great video! great advice and information.

  • So do you think Professional Polynesian dancers qualify?

  • YES, I will break down the supporting documents in my next video. You basically turn in a phtoo ID, plus 2 supporting documents - cobination of your polynesian solo photo/headshot, resume, program mention, or letter of recommendation from your Director or clients you performed professionally to.

  • I cannot live without this but it does suck that I have to pay for it!

  • what a cutie hat

  • ur halirous lol jp

  • i love you hat, it's so adorable! and thanks for the tips, your videos are always so informative. great job!

    hugs-peace-&kisses

  • yes you can. you just have to go to a PRO store. you dont get a discount though

  • Thanks EnKore!

I have had my Pro Card (B)for almost a year now and was wondering if I have to re-send in proof info again?

  • nope, just your annual membership fee.

  • I absolute love the workshops. You always learn something new from a fellow make up artist. It's fantastic.

  • ::::: Question::::::

    thanks for the info!

    1) but can you buy online, over the phone and also get the discount?

2)I do freelance, but I am not near a MAC pro (on robertson) but do MAC free standing stores count?

    TIA!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1.) yes

2.) yes. u can't use it at department stores though! nordies, macy's

  • Yes.

  • Love your hat!

  • you're always so informative. thanks.

  • i found about this last week and im a cosmotologist, this video came just perfect on time!..thanx!

  • can the pro card be used at the MAC Counter department stores like Macys? Or is it just at the MAC stores

  • just mac stores

  • jus mac stores....boooo

  • oh gosh.. finally i found out about this! i've been spending so much money at mac these past years! and i didn't know nail techs get discounts =( i gotta find out more about this!

  • yeah definitely look into it -- MACPRO dotcom then click on membership.

  • so is it like a credit card or is it a card that they just scan when u check out

  • Its just a card that they scan that deducts the discount.

  • when you live in 8-degree weather, you have to wear fluffy things in public - I hate layering clothes in the winter, cant wear cute things LOL

  • i'm a full time beauty college student i just applied for the pro student card i'm so excited!

  • yes but dancers only get 10% students get 20% cosmetology and makeup artist get 30% but you can get an upgrade to 40% that's what i did it's easier than just applying for the 40%

  • I LOVEEE ALL YOUR VIDEOS!! =D

  • Great advice!

  • There is also a 20% discount that you don't have to pay for. That's the one I started at for frequent buyers. I had to hustle for that...lol

  • how did you get that??

  • How did you get that?!

  • the frequent buyers 20% discount thing your talking about how did you apply for that

  • Really... How do you apply for the frequent buyer's 20% discount?

  • I was a dancer but it was for a studio not a professional company. Does that still count?

  • If you or your group was hired and got paid to dance professionally for a show. If its just a recital, that won't count.

  • Hm.. So competing at high school dance competitions won't count either? =(

    Oh well. Ty for answering!!

  • professional= make $ w/ your acquired skills

  • I LOVEEEEEEEE YOURRRRRR VIDEOS!!!

  • nice vid koren

  • could a make up student also get a pro card?

  • as long as you have the required eligible documents to support the membership application, you can still be a student and be a pro member.

  • good info korren

  • 216

  • uhmmm..... is it also ture that if u take the mac pro class u can also get the card??

  • You can't even register to a MAC Pro Class without being a pro member first. They ask for your number to register.

  • nice

  • what if you're in school? can you still apply? or should i wait until i graduate?

  • you can apply, even still in school, as long as you have the required documents to support your application. Otherwise, when you graduate, you're certificate/diploma will definitely be an acceptable document.

  • If you're talking about hair/cosmetology/nail/makeup/etc school, then yes, you do have to wait. You must present a copy of two things that identify you as a professional, such as your license and diploma. Doesn't hurt to throw in a business card, but a license is necessary.

  • you can apply for the MAC student program.

if your school is on the approved list, that is.

  • thanks for the info!

  • Ugh! I wish I had one!

  • can you do a sweeney todd makeup video?

  • great vid!!!!!
