Weird, I'm in beauty school and my instructor gave me the paperwork to fill out to turn into mac to become mac pro member, but it says it's only 10 dollars every 6 months. Could this be a hidden cost or a discount because I'm a student?
Hey EnKore ! I absolutely love and appreciate your vids and all they've done for me. I just wanted to ask you if just being on youtube using their products count as a an on air personality? or do you necessarily have to be some who"s paid to do this?
Just wondering if you could just tell me, I applied for macpro card, got an invoice on my payment (so guessing my application got accepted) buy how long after did you receive the card? Thank you if you can answer xx
Can I go to a MAC PRO Store and buy stuff just like that ? I wanna buy palletes and I can go to the PRO store.. but can I buy it like a normal customer or will they shoo me away ? :p
Yes you can, haha. They have the stores there for a reason and wouldn't shove you away just because you're not a professional. You can buy palletes at any MAC standing store though. :]
I qualify for the 30%, but, as the makeup I buy would only be for my personal use, is it worth the annual fee? Would I save that much? Performers are way underpaid, even if they are union, and MAC is kind of expensive. Do you feel it's worth it?
as a Union performer myself, I totally hear ya. I think $35 a year is not bad, it pays back after a couple purchases with the savings you get depdning on what youre getting. Just think of your makeup consumption for the next year. If it helps you can also get makeup gifts for your loved ones and thats added savings.
My daughter dances extensively - ballet, hip hop, competitions, etc. Her makeu-up is key and often times the colors requested are mac products - she is a minor, though...could I apply for her?
competition dancers don't qualify, with the exception of Pro Ballroom. She needs to be employed and professionally getting paid for her dancing to qualify.
You dont need to be a cosmetologist to work at MAC - where it comes down to, its retail, So nature of retail business, proving you can SELL gets their attention more than what you can do to someone's face. So your artistry is just a supporting ability.
I was watching a video of yours-Palette Labeling- and i was wondering you got all those palettes i am semi new to makeup and i have questions like where you get palettes? How long it took you to get all of them? so much more and you seem like a really goor person to ask
That's also what I wanted to know. I think you have to at least have a business card made up. You can make them yourself or get a pro to do it (it's expensive though!)
Ah btw...I have my MAC pro since about...half a year....what do I have to do after the year ? Just pay the again ? Or do I have to send my documents again ?
I fortunately have a Mac pro card but unfortunately I can't use muh benefits of it because...tehre is NO pro store in my area, there are NO masterclasses in my area, there are NO product parties in my area.....well, I'M glad I get at least the product discount...but I hope they start to invent MAC parties here in Austria as well :/ I'd be so curious what they are like
I'm an actress! I never knew that I could apply for a pro card. Thanks so much for this video Koren! Although I've only been paid once for a community theatre production I wonder if my work as a costume assistant in a professional theatre would count as well.
Yeap there are MAC stores in Singapore but there aren't any pro stores here at all and the closes we've got is this one store that sells the empty palettes, eyeshadow pans and cream blushes. All the other mac stores don't carry that and I don't think they have this MAC Pro membership thing on over here.
I dont think that is at all fair, if the person has to pay for it then it shouldnt matter what he or she does for a living. they need to have something for other's to where they can get discounts but not take classes.
I sing for 2 gospel groups. 1 pay me and 1 dont. so you are telling me that the one that pay me I can use that to get a pro card until I get certified as a makeup artist?
If your a student right now, would it be better to apply as a student first or just the regular card. Do you get any different benefits applying as a student?
what i did was applied for the student program. after i'm done with school, i'm going to apply for the pro card. and i think that students receive 20%.
YES, I will break down the supporting documents in my next video. You basically turn in a phtoo ID, plus 2 supporting documents - cobination of your polynesian solo photo/headshot, resume, program mention, or letter of recommendation from your Director or clients you performed professionally to.
oh gosh.. finally i found out about this! i've been spending so much money at mac these past years! and i didn't know nail techs get discounts =( i gotta find out more about this!
yes but dancers only get 10% students get 20% cosmetology and makeup artist get 30% but you can get an upgrade to 40% that's what i did it's easier than just applying for the 40%
you can apply, even still in school, as long as you have the required documents to support your application. Otherwise, when you graduate, you're certificate/diploma will definitely be an acceptable document.
If you're talking about hair/cosmetology/nail/makeup/etc school, then yes, you do have to wait. You must present a copy of two things that identify you as a professional, such as your license and diploma. Doesn't hurt to throw in a business card, but a license is necessary.
Weird, I'm in beauty school and my instructor gave me the paperwork to fill out to turn into mac to become mac pro member, but it says it's only 10 dollars every 6 months. Could this be a hidden cost or a discount because I'm a student?
