@nagamanesh Why does that matter? He's right, you know. You could just hook up the video output on the computer to something, and use that to record it. I honestly don't have a clue what is happening in this video. Alternately, you could set this up in a VM. THAT is how you capture the booting of an operating system.
I agree abt recording from external device. The external device I used is phone camera...which ofcourse didn't give good output and my webcam of my desktop in '08 is worst than the 3.2MP phone camera. So didn't try.
Didn't thk abt VBox/VM at that time. There are few videos I created later.
...And why is that every time I see a linux video, they only show off the icandy? How about the functionality? Don't get me wrong, I'm a Linux Ubuntu 8.10 user. But it just makes us look like little 5 year olds playing with little desktop effects. Show something that actually matters, like how Windows 7 has live thumbnail previews and "Aero Snap". Those are minor but useful features. Show something like that :)
OMG That's the best comment I've seen from a comment on youtube actually saying something about Linux with useless features and said something smart lol. Yeah
We need to accept that all distros will have some kind of bugs. OpenSuse do have bugs and same with Ubuntu.
The only problem with Ubuntu is they release a newer version of Ubuntu by time we realize that it contains bugs. I appreciate the Ubuntu forums support, however for a newbie, I would still recommend OpenSuse.
GOSH!!! I didn't expect the music this loud!!! i don't have a shortcut mute button, and thanks for waking up the family!!!, think about the volume of music before you upload, AND DON'T SAY "use the magic mute button," because SOME computers don't have shortcut mute buttons, and it took me half a minute to get the youtube volume working so i can turn this MUSIC OFF, THANKS. oh, nice system btw.
Hi Darren, Firstly U need to install some linux Operating System, I use OpenSuse and then Compiz Fusion, most of the 3D animations come with it automatically. However there are some extra pluggins called as Compiz-git which can also be used.
THAT is why linux is better than windows. for all you windows power users, let this be a lesson. this stuff works much better under linux. And even if you need your windows stuff, you can run an entire copy of windows *inside* almost all linux distros at near native speed. then you dont have to dualboot and you can use windows like it's an extension of linux operating systems
You are probalby to disabled to know that macs can run windows, the windows vista sucks and that macbook(s) (pros) are like the best performing laptops

In most window managers, everything snaps.
It's a great feature, you can align things to the edges of the screen.
Also, Compiz has had live thumbnails since, like, before Vista.

Use Ubuntu. It's the best and easiest to use for new comers.
TippedOuT 2 years ago
Or Linux Mint. It comes with Flash and stuff pre-installed, so you don't have to click as many buttons.

I will note this when I make my next video.
However you should have used the mute in the youtube sound control button rather than going for computer one.
Thanks for the comment anyway.
