  • Aware all knife sharpeners!! I know you need to sharp the knifes on a stone with water just because that you wouldn´t ruin the hardening that is on your knife or axe.

  • good job with the vid but you got your vertical and your horizontal mixed up ( 1:42 )

  • @victory01 nvm...didn't recognize the video without the usual gay intros....good job. haha

  • Are you a cook or a murderer?

  • I wonder how many of these viewers are actually sharpening "Kitchen" knives.

  • your an idot

  • your an idiot

  • not enough of an angle on the knife.....sad day

  • UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS!

  • My wife gave my stepson a kitchen steel this morning to use to sharpen his dull-as-hell tactical folder. I couldn't believe she didn't know it wasn't for actual sharpening. I showed him the proper tools to use instead and now....well he's already cut himself twice on the razor edge. >:oP

  • Give him a some shades and he's "Hyde from That 70s Show."

  • many people say this way is wrong to shap

  • Sad that the Gordon Ramsay video has almost 6x the views as this one. This guy knows what he is talking about.

  • @AdamSSB So true, he literally makes Gordon look a fool. "Get a nice rhythm like a drum"...he's such a noob

  • @AdamSSB Gordon Ramsay does as well........

  • nyce burnz

  • Wow, cool stuff I had never had as good results with the steel as I did using this technique. Just 3-4 strokes and the blades felt much better.

  • kia ora from New Zealand

Thankyou for your expert guidance I have watched other knife sharpening videos however your video makes sense, easy to follow and I cant wait to start sharpening my own knives.

  • hola soy de Argentina como afilo una Katana a mano sin dañarla ? gracias !!

  • this guy is very helpful ty :)

  • Thanks, very useful. Only one suggestion: next time you must use a white t-shirt so the movement that you apply on the knife will be easier to see.

  • hehe he said vertically when he was holding it horizontally. I know, just a silly mistake, I'm not taking the piss, I'm just pointing it out. And thank you for the video, I've been wanting to know how to hone blades for a while now.

  • @Bokoblin2 He was holding the steel vertically as in up and down. o-o..

  • Thanks, expertvillage. Very clear instructions. Great video.

  • I've made dull blades sharp with a steel - including a 18'' machete. I think you can do more with a steel than you give credit...

  • yah

  • I realy do not agree with the number of strokes. Who am I...right. I undrstand but you should storke in increments of one. Once on one side and then once on the other. I use this method throughout the entire process. Opinions are like azz holes.. like I said... I understand

  • The way I was taught. A steel is for cleaning the blade a hone (steel w/ diamonds) is for sharping and I hold the steel pointing up and pull the blade down the steel and side to side gives me more control and a better feel for the blade. I have used a strap ( leather strap ) to clean a blade after sharping. I have had the same set of knives for 20 years. I have only sharpened them once!!!! I use the steel to keep the edege clean and sharp without removing meatal from the knife blade.

  • Great video, thank you!

  • Hi man! nice videos! how should i sharp a sushi knife? thx!
