I had that same problem. I was trying to jailbreak it with greenpois0n but it didnt work so I tried limera1n and it took foreverrrr. So I got impatiant and unplugged it. Thats when it got stuck. So I just went back to greenpios0n and tried to jailbreak it again while it was in recovery mode, and afterwards, it turned back on and nothing was gone. I hope this helped!

try holding down the home button and sleep without being plugged in then release the sleep button but still holding the home button and then plug in the iphone or touch to the computer and release the home button then your should detect your usb device and from there itunes should ask your to restore to its original settings on the original computer. @surf4life747 the reason why it doesn't work for us is because we have a tethered jailbreak. You probably got your iPod touch on Christmas which is an mc model. Which means your iPod touch is on a newer bootrom. So then it makes yours tethered. You cant turn your ipod on and off and cant reboot. Recovery mode happened a lot on me but to fix it you just rejailbreak it with blackra1n nothing will go wrong and your iPod memory apps will still be there.unless you have a newer version of iTunes. There's an easier way than all of this if u have jailbroken with blackra1n then reopen that and it will restore and reboot without do any damage once it's done u wont have lost anything and it will still be jailboken.

You have to restore your phone to a complete clean version of the firmware so that the jailbreak can work
