Science has altered throughout the years so much, it's hard to know what the facts are at all. Religion isn't necessarily true, but the fact that there is a God could be. Relgion does not supress questioning. Quite the opposite, Islam promotes questioning and promotes the seeking of knowledge. Infact the Islam you see today i.e the majority of muslims. Two points id like to raise.
1) When you discuss a topic like this, I believe one should be impartial and hold no bias. Clearly in the manner that you talk one notices your stance for religion.
2) It seems like you want to know who created god. If we tak that question and told you that A created god, you would then want to ask who created A and then if we said B and it would go on and so fourth. At some point there needs to be an ultimate source. One that is higher than all sources known 2 man
