Hi Betty! I made it for a recent picnic and it was a hit! It was nice and light and had loads of flavour. I added chopped up roasted peppers to it and it was amazing! Thanks Betty!
Looks yummy, as usual :) I'll have to try this for sure, as I have been wanting to try the tri-colored pasta. They do make some that is actually made out of veggies. I don't know if yours was or not, but it's supposed to be really healthy.
The only thing I was thinking of doing differently was maybe mixing together the mayo and Italian dressing before tossing. That might actually make a pretty good dressing for potatoes too now that I think about it! :) Anyhoo...keep 'em coming! :)
@Poenut Thanks for your lovely comment! That's a good idea about mixing the mayo and Italian dressing--and I think it would be good on potatoes, as well!
Very nice Betty:) May I suggest what I use in my pasta salad for dressing? For a box of pasta, I use 7 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil and 4 tablespoons white wine vinegar. More of both if needed. I realize you were trying to recreate what you had at Merrick Inn, so just a suggestion. I always love your field trips.. maybe another farmers market trip this summer? My best to you and Rick, thanks for all the great videos!
Some of things things you say remind me so much of my mom. Like when you say "worth" behind a measurement. She's from Kentucky too so I'm guessing that's where it comes from but I love seeing the resemblance in the way you two talk.
Oh yea, and I guess we can't get Creamette pasta where we live anymore and she is just beside herself over it. haha!
betty, u always take such care in presenting ur dishes and i really appreciate that. the crystal bowl set u used (and i'm just guessing that it's crystal, lol) is just lovely! thank you for being so classy =)
@hannahbanana468 Yes, Kentucky can get very hot during the summer! It was very cold last winter, too! We keep the air conditioner on during the summer, but just at a pleasant temperature.
@bettyskitchen 1 of my favorite dishes to make...the feta idea is great...i usually use extra sharp chedder...i will be making this today after work and i will add tomatoes...Thanks Betty and Rick!!
@freakylocz14 I like to put strawberries in spinach salad with some bleu or feta cheese and caramelized pecans. Also, strawberries are great in trifles and parfaits.
Oh no where is Ol Blue? I missed him in this video, has he gone on to a better place? I took the liberty a while back of naming your blue silicone spoon, love that thing. lol
Hey Betty, i'm greek. You got greetings from Athens first of all. I like your recipe. If i were you though, i would add more feta, no mayo, and, trust me, i would add some diced tomato and black olives just to make it more greek. To make it more sophisticated, i would switch the olives with plack olive paste. To make it more tasty with a vibrant herb-taste, i would add dried thyme or oregano or capers. Kisses!
Pasta salad is always a winner, especially this time of year. I just had some tonight with red onion, peas, parsley and it was delish! I used robusto Italian dressing. Yours look wonderful!
Ohhh you've done it again Betty, another delicious one for us! Can't beat a good pasta salad, especially during summer, versatile and delicious. I'll be making this one! <3
This looks delicious as always. Do you have any idea what kind of spices are in the italien dressing because in germany they are either different or nonexistent.
Betty,I was so Funny,I was eating Pasta Salad when your video come on. I love Pasta Salad. It is great when we are having such hot weather. I always add a can of mushrooms to mine and Shredded Cheese ,My husband loves Black Olives in his. The dressing that I use is Wish Bone House Italian. It really has a great flavor.
