That sounded like the motor timing. I've have had this when the power is cut for a few seconds then power applied, it takes a split second for the timing to sort itself out. To stop this I advance throttle trim so motor has just started to turn then fly like this. This means on min throttle the motor never loses it timing and you don't get that nasty noise! On landing simply use throttle trim to stop motor.
do the fins on the end of the wing tips make any difference? I have the 48" MXS. i did not put the ( fins ) on. wanted to see what others thought before I gave em a try.
