  • that was fucking incredable

  • this documentary is a lesson about how we should get a long and co exist each other. we should care each other. some needs more help than others.

  • atleas they arent killing their entire families in the process. ive sen alot of americans kill their families before they suicide, ITS FUKN CRAZY!

  • I really like how he says that "he still doesn't know the answer" he seems like a very altruistic and logical man. I personally think they choose to die there because it is a raw, primal, beautiful and untapped part of the world separated from society. What a fantastic documentary on the fragility of human life. Strangely profound.

It's strange because if anything it makes me want to visit. The Junkai looks so serene. (I am not suicidal, I am a very lucky human being)

  • PROBABLY THE GUYS CHOSE THIS PLACE FOR BEEN SO PURE, PACIFIC AND ANCIENT AND PROBABLY WITH COUNT WITH GPRS NTT DOCOMO COVERAGE, ANYWAYS, JP BOYS ALWAYS DO ALL WITH A SUPER GREAT STYLE, EVEN SUICIDE ACT

PS. THE YAKUZA ROBS ONLY THE CUTE BOYS OF 12YO BODYS FOR HAVE ACTION AND OTHER ONES NOT ?

  • 'You think you die alone, but that's not true. Nobody is alone in this world. We have to coexist and take care of each other. That's how I feel' .. That's how I feel too. And what he said about society, communication and coexistence was so true. What a lovely and wise man, if only the world had more people like him.

  • He said that no one is alone in the world, but some people really are.. Its hard to get out of bed in the morning when you have no friends, love, emotional support or even contact with anyone at all.. All I want to do is sleep all day..

  • @Stillwater900 I don't know you, and I don't know your personal situation, but I do empathize with your statement: It wasn't but a few months ago that I felt the very same way. I do want to encourage you to reach out to someone--anyone--be it a family member, or counselor. You may find that you are more loved than you think!

  • ;_;

  • He wins this year's prestigious Lovely Man award.

  • despite it's title, and potential shock factor... and assuming that the majority of people watch this video seeking this mythologized idea of a dark, death forest, and to see corpses and whatnot... i actually quite liked it. some interesting points were touched on, and i like this man.

  • in tibet culture dead people are placed to rest with no burial on top of a nice natural place, they believe that nature and human are the same, but by god!! leaving alive people there to die?!! that's just too cruel japan!!

  • This makes me feel very sad. It is very powerful, as someone has said below. It does make one see life differently, seeing something like this. But that feeling doesn't last, and one just gets caught up in the monotony and distractions and small things that become so important in our lives.

  • This was very very staged. But this guy is very admirable.

  • @alanaisaac5 Staged? or maybe your saying that its true but the documentary is staged? either way I didnt get that feeling at all but if it were staged you would have seen alot more bodies... Japan has the highest suicide rate in the world what makes this so unbelievable to you? show a little more compassion nextime you make a comment like that

  • @areyouserious83 Compassion has nothing to do with it. I don't think the fact that people go into the forest to kill themselves is staged, but the video itself. It's all scripted. The objects they find, while some might be random, many are too neatly placed around in the open. And the skeleton they find makes absolutely no sense. It would still be a bit "juicy" if it stayed in a forest like that for a year or two. Plush the clothes would have decomposed with the flesh. And the

  • @areyouserious83 fact that no animal touched it is almost impossible to believe. Make no mistake, they wouldn't go through the time and money to produce this if it wasn't gonna be watched and to be watched it needs to be interesting so they make it look like it was just a random occurrence. It's not impossible to go into that forest and find something like that, just improbable that they would find something their first go around and they wouldn't leave their money up to chance.

  • @alanaisaac5 Actually, Aokigahara is famous for having almost no wildlife, there are no large animals to touch the body. Trust me, I've been there, its absolutely DEAD silent, no birds even.. Its not unusual to find skeletons in there. When I went there, I found stuff like that, old clothing, papers, personal stuff, even a rope.. I don't think this is staged

  • @alanaisaac5 How do you know it was the first go around? The guy is wearing a different shirt halfway through, so its pretty obvious that there went our more than once. Obviously they don't film the parts when they go to the hotel and sleep.

  • I have a perspective on why people go there to die. They are, as he also seems to know, utterly fed up with society. It's a cruel, hard and lonely world, especially in Japan. Everyone is expected to behave and be nice, but it's not what they see coming back from the general consensus of who controls society. So they'd rather go back to nature, be natural, and die surrounded by peace and tranquility of a forest, instead of a box in their cramped quarters. That tree hugging shit is pretty real...

  • *there

  • @BostonCreamDonut i used to live tgere, they actually to an annual sweep of the forest every year for bodies.

  • Very powerful. Scary.

  • This man is amazing.

    Everyone should think like that.

  • The bit where he is talking to the guy in the tent seems like something right out of an Anime. Beautiful!

  • i think this can used for inspiration for adventure game like FF, may be it's could named "Suicide Fantacy"....*xxx*....

  • @Bostoncreamdonut I was thinking the same I'm knida curious do you think there's a serial killer in Japan

  • Comment removed

  • I get the sense its very easy to get away with murder in Japan, kill someone drive them to this forest, hang them, go home, when the body is found its just another suicide.

  • @BostonCreamDonut Not that easy. Autopsy would almost certainly null and void the ''suicide''.

  • @MemoriesofIreland190 Actually its very easy, hang the guy in your garage, bring him to the forest then hang him from a tree, autopsy will show this person died from strangulation. Get away with murder in Japan 101

  • @BostonCreamDonut How do you think you could then explain the 2 rope burn marks on the neck? if u hang him twice the rope tension will be on a different angle of the neck causing another rope burn the second time. Theyll know in a second it was homicide. You underestimate forensics

  • @Ikorose11 Okay sedate him, take him to the forest and hang him once, now what do you have to say.

  • @BostonCreamDonut yea cuz im pretty sure a sedated man can hang himself...

  • @Ikorose11 lmao you obviously have a room temperature iq, I said YOU hang him while he`s sedated. There you go, the perfect crime.

  • @BostonCreamDonut lol... thats what they're going to think at the coroner. Forensics will find sedatives in his blood and say how did this man hang himself after he sedated himself. Thus it has to be homicide

  • @Ikorose11 Whatever, by the time the body is found it will be years later as police don`t make a habit of investigating or entering this forest.

  • 何とも言えない

  • 5:50 yes, facebook accounts for suicides

  • Poor people. May them rest in peace.

  • I heard a woman's voice at 18 seconds 0_0 how eerie. And isn't it weird how death is so ugly yet fascinating at the same time?

  • the skeleton at around 7:20 looks to clean...

  • @pokehimon it lay out in the sunlight, so his assumption of 1~2 years might be true.

ofc it takes more time for a body do decay in a coffin, but out like that animals feast on the body, and sunlight bleaches the bones rather quickly. it's nature

  • @deadvodka I guess that makes a bit of sense...

  • This was a really inspiring and sad video. So much so that I'm dedicating a blog post to it. If anyone wants to read it, please message me in a week.

  • beware beware the forest of sin, for none come out but many go in...

  • Tried to hang himself where his feet could touch the ground? *face palm*

  • lolz, skeletinz!

  • fucking awesome dude, thanks

  • I don't get it...the forest may be beautiful without the knowledge of the suicides there, but knowing that people go there specifically to die changes the atmosphere immediately for me. It's sad..

  • ...His voice is great

  • @MusicalxRainbowz not funny

  • @Lazer77 I wasn't trying to be funny... this guy rocks

  • Comment removed

  • Something in tht forest makes ppl go there and kill themselves. The mountain there is said to be a place where heaven and earth meet, or a gateway according to local legend. If i lived in Japan, i would go exploring with fire power, a camera, and a GPS. Find out whats going on there.

  • im on the wrong side of youtube again...

  • this guy is a hero.

  • i feel both sad n creeped out by that skeleton

  • ohh this makes me so sad, just to know these people wanted to die, and i hope the man in the yellow tent still lives his life and sees that he's not alone!

  • wow, i respect this man so fucking much and thats just after seeing these two videos.. I totally agree with everything he has said and don't have one bit of disagreement. I would if i could make this man the president of the world. I think this world would be a much better place like that.

I really dont respect many people at all in this world and the fact that i respect this man and everything he believes in must mean something..

I also strongly agree with his theory on human interaction.

  • damn i think everybody should watch this... it made me appreciate my own life and my loves ones alot more. And damn thats crazy... camping out for a long time debating on it... who does that??? thats come weird shit. and in a pretty forest like that???

  • This man is such a unselfish human being...one of the great souls that lives in our world but will never be rewarded for the love and care he has shown others...and quite frankly he probably does not even want one... I cringe thinking how in our world we make a fuss about Kim Kardashian and Junk Tv.....and look at this..... :((((((( we have our priorities all wrong

  • I was randomnly watching videos... strange thing is, this guy makes me want to stop the suiciders. And kinda changed my perspective on life... WTF...

  • wow... the old man is really wise

  • I'm speechles..

    I'm feeling sad right now...

  • Part of this must be attributed to the sense of shame. Japanese culture is heavy on pride and honour. A person who has failed in business like losing their job or bought dishonour on their family, feel deep shame and unfortuantely suicide is an only option for some. But as this man proves, Japanese culture is just as full of compassion as any other and he deserves a medal for stopping or at least attempting to stop many wasteful suicides here.

  • Which 2 pricks disliked this?

  • sounds like dead island music..

  • Deeeeep

  • Death isn't beautiful, no matter how it happens. He's right, there.

What I find heroic about him is the fact that he sees *so much* death, so much of the ugliness of what a body becomes after death, and yet he seems, himself, firmly content in life, not depressed, nor depressing, nor nihilistic.

  • @caitsidhe I take offense! I am a nihilist, it is NOT depressing. Only idiots who thought they had to be worth something to be happy are depressed when they realize nihilism is correct. And I think people who are so weak as to commit suicide didn't deserve to live in the first place. (exception: unavoidable physical pain)

  • @ataraxic89 You are certainly welcome to your view. I have never heard a nihilist speak in absolutist terms before you, however. I can just as easily say that anyone so weak as to cling to life, and believe that they mean nothing deserve to be dismissed as idiots.

  • @caitsidhe To put it simply: Just because I know that my thoughts and actions mean nothing to the universe doesnt mean they have to mean nothing to me. Do people really think its an either/or thing that you either have to be relevant to the whole god damned universe or you shouldnt even exist at all? Btw, most "nihilists" are actually in a limbo before true nihilism in which they still equate absolute value with personal value.

  • @ataraxic89 Yes, but you're replying to *me* - and I don't care about your thoughts or actions.

  • this was deep :/

  • @constipationnow Yes it was. Peace be with you.

  • Give this man a medal

  • @YousefsPie For doing what would come natural for most people placed in his position. Atleast I'd like to think.

  • I think this guy hits the nail on the head about needing to see people's face and expressions. When asked if you are alright people are trained to say "Im ok, nothing wrong." And when their relatives here this but don't see the pain in their face they can miss the chance to save a life. Our society is so messed up and sad. Good vibes to anyone that has dealt with suicide, or currently dealing with thoughts of it. Peace on earth

  • So sad to be confronted with people at the end of their ropes. I wish all of these people would meet up and become friends rather than ending their lies. It probably would happen if mental depression and other problems were treated more humanely.

  • This is a very interesting video. wish i could talk to him bout my problems cause I always think bout killing myself few times. but couldn't for some reason. it's sad they have a forest of death people go there to kill them selves. and shame on the yakuza for using that forest

  • creepy thing is you can barely hear any birds... maybe one or two.. but it's completely quiet..

  • cool story bro.

  • "You think you die alone, but that's not true. Nobody is alone in this world. We have to coexist and take care of each other."

  • That man has such a beautiful soul

  • we have to coexist and take care of each other. +1 one for the park ranger

  • I see comptibalism as a big source of the self punishment and sorrow these suiciders seem to feel. In other words, the belief in 'free will' and too high hopes about getting this learned will, who they believe is associated to their personality. That they can't be the person they believe to be and there by think they are to blame.

  • When he talks about spending all our time online... It makes me think of that commercial with the guys on the phone living their lives... It's so sad. Like my AP Lit teacher says, we have to learn how to communicate face-to-face.

  • Nobody is alone in this world.......

  • Lovely man in a horrid job.The place looks as though it could do with some maintenance ,let in more sun, make it less depressing

  • When you have terminal illness like I am, you will understand that life is meaningful and life worth every second to live for...Life is the most precious thing in this universe, not all things were created to live to love and for that we need to respect and live our lives to the fullest. It's pains me to see people that committed suicide, especially when they are 100% healthy, because they could help the world and do so much for this planet. I know I am because I understood the meaning of life.

  • Such an nice man. I wish everyone felt like he did. The hard part is not everyone does. We should take care of one another. As time goes on there is no more old school. Out of sight out of mind.

  • After this video I had to think of Kanye West's track "Lost in the World". It totally describes the emotion lyrically to the point....check it out and tell me what u guys think...would be interesting

  • god damnit why can't us white people be as nice Japanese people! haha

  • well done,

    the more,the better!

we'd like to see more TV news reports,

    cheer up!

  • @Jeville42135-I know, but I'm wondering what happening after he was discharged from the hospital.

  • one month on liquids... oh my goodness how graphic he must have become.

  • This guy's a fucking beast.

  • Much love to that guy. What an amazing man.

  • excellent video. the guy has put some positive effect on my mind.

  • The tune reminds me of red dead redemption

  • あずさ早野は善良な心を持っています。神は彼を祝福!!

  • This is depressing as fuck.

  • "you think you die alone, but thats not true" Damn. thats a deep one

  • thumps up if you want to be in this place for 2 days

  • He said its not possible to die heroically by suicide, but you have to admit it's courageous. Courageous because they could kill themselves many without a hesitate even though they have no idea what lies beyond death but darkness. At the same time its sad because they didn't have the courage to deal with what was going on in their lives.

  • I've been there not knowing what it was till after I left and the entire time I was upset, the scenery even gives off an Erie vibe

  • This guy is like the Stalker in Tarkovsky's film. Going in to an eerie mythical place and finding strange objects.

On a more serious note though, all my respects go to this man and the work he's doing in this forest.

  • "We have to coexist and take care of each other"

"You think you die alone, but wrong you thought!"

  • this place is def haunted... even if you go there without having the thoughts of suiciding, something will still convinced and makes you believe that you do...this is the gateway to hell..

  • @llx2o1 Well, the guy in the video didn't die, or the police who go there, or the families or friends who visit there, or the guy in the tent. So... stop saying dumb superstitious shit.

  • @Klank123 are you like 10 years old kid? stfu... everybody has their own opinions... believe it or not but there are such thing as "possess" fucen stupid as.s twat....

  • Who cares about religion? If it helps someone not commit suicide, great! Don't shove it down the throats of those who obviously aren't interested.

And with all religions and whatnot in the world, who knows the truth path anyway?

If you're kind and moral, why does God care what you believe in? You'll see whose right in the end, so does it really matter?

No God should want to change me, and if I must to get in THEIR heaven like I'd change myself to get into a social clique, I don't wanna go.

  • Life sucks sometimes...but...it really does get better. Sometimes it may seem to be the thickest of hurricanes...but the sun does shine through again. Please smile and live, it does get better.

  • To those whom believe that suicide is the answer... Stop being a coward and face life, so many people are having worst days but they move froward...we all have to fight for a better life, not wait around for something good to happen we have to make it happen. I speak from experience. Find your inner strength we all have a purpose in life, so just be patient, something good will eventually find you,and you will think " I would'nt have been able to experience this had I done it" -- A friend

  • He's right about our digital age. It has become so cold and faceless due to technology. Humans need interaction with one another on a more personal level

  • @F50Italia Kinda Ironic that you posted this on youtube... Just sayin.

  • @MidGroundInertia yeah I suppose

  • @F50Italia .....you say over a youtube comment section......

  • @Theriot6592 Here's another thing I'm gonna say over a Youtube comment section....... Fuck off

  • @F50Italia people are just nit picking at what you said but we all understand what you mean

  • @F50Italia In essence, to me, all of the marvels of science and technology, all of the electronic and mechanical wonders, are just so many millions of tonnes of junk unless it enhances the lives of men.' -- Jacque Fresco

  • I will admit the Forest Is so beautiful

  • that darn forest is full of ghosts & zombies

  • this is a sad video... people dont know that they need Jesus. i wish i couldve told them about jesus before many of them died

  • @dan122189 please show respect. these people had thier own faith. dont judge thiers.

  • @XxGAMINGHQxX tht wasnt judging

  • @dan122189 Jesus isn't the answer the everything, if he's out there he could tell you that.

  • @RetroGamerMan64 well He is there and He would say I Am the answer

  • @dan122189 most of them wouldn't even listen to you. they have their own faith like As Shintoists so they believe in the many deities of the Shinto Religion, but many are Buddhist who do not believe in and deity (Japanese Buddhism, unlike Tibetan, does not believe in gods) . only 1-4% or so believe in the western christian JESUS.

  • @tuleagle well your right. many will probably shun me away but dont they do that to christians who preach the TRUE gospel here in america? Buddhism is depressing in its core. Buddhists are deeply concerned with overcoming suffering but must deny that suffering is real. Christ faced the reality of suffering & overcame it by solving the problem of sin, which is the real source of suffering. My heart goes out for those people. They and us all need Jesus, other wise hell is coming to get us @ death

  • @dan122189 Wrong, have you ever read the Buddah's teachings? It's about accepting suffering and using it to enlighten one's self. We don't all need your god or Jesus. Get over your religion.

  • @alund1306 i studied some Buddhism in college a few semesters ago so ya.... and that pain isnt real and realty isnt real and to achieve nirvana. which is a great door to open if you want demonic attacks =D.

actually we all need Jesus. God is a just and holy God and we are born sinners by nature, we lie, cheat, steal, curse by our own will and if we die in our sin we will go to hell cause God holy and just and will not allow a criminal to enter heaven. Jesus came to die and take our place.

  • @dan122189 Haha, ok buddy. You go your way and I'll go mine.

  • @alund1306 lol ok, well God bless you and I hope that whatever pain your going through, is gone in Jesus name. =)

    take care

  • so we wouldnt go to hell and get what we do deserve but have everlasting life. He paid our fine but we have to repent and turn away from our since and put our faith in Jesus Christ. this is religion, this isnt some stuff tht tries to appeal your guilty conscious. this literally is a battle for your soul but you wouldnt understand what im talking about...

  • @dan122189 Sorry, bro, but you don't get Buddhism at all if you say Buddhism is depressing at it's core. It's about overcoming suffering through acceptance of it. Pain and suffering happen, it's inevitable, but you can use it to your advantage.

It may seem depressing, but it's realistic and if one cares to look, there's optimism there.

Besides, if it doesn't hurt anyone and it makes the Buddhist happy, virtuous and kind, why does God care?

  • If the world thought like this guy we'd live life as it should be lived

  • This guys got some wisdom. True wisdom that comes with an open heart, an open mind, & years of experience gazing through the third eye. In a perfect world, we would all love and respect each other as this man does.

  • He is the definition of a wonderfully kind and caring person. What a nice thing to do ,over 100 he has found :( and some he has saved :) . 9 years ago my father took his life,it's such a waist,so so sad. Thanks for sharing the video

  • i have deep respect for the geologist

  • I first heard of this forest on an episode of the show "Destination Truth".I was very intrigued, left wondering why so many have ended their lives in this particular forest. This man helped me understand more of what goes on in this forest, and his message was so powerful. This is heartbreaking that so many feel that they have nothing to live for.I hope that all of us can learn to help each other more, and that if anyone is feeling lost or confused that we reach out to help them, not ignore them .

  • His messages are really good.

  • Its weird because i kind of had these thoughts today, but after watching this it made me feel better. Don't kill yourself cause eventually you will rediscover joy, happiness and that hard time is your life really isnt that hard if you think positive and look to a brighter future.

  • ancient aliens brought me here

  • How can hanging your self be the least painful way? It breaks your neck... I hear that does not really feel good. Please people think about what your about to do before you do it!! Some one loves you in life!

  • i hate to be there in the night.

  • Very interesting mini documentary on this, I've heard of the place before but I highly enjoyed seeing this with the guy that walked around talking about it and especially love the ending on how he feels that nobody is alone in the world, it's true.

  • Ancient Fucking Aliens!

  • @THOR16soccer shut the fuck up

  • @Dirtfire-Yeah, but I'm wondering what happened to him after they released him from the hospital. Why was he only drinking liquids, was he trying to fast or commit suicide slowly? Hopefully, he won't try something like that again.

  • If I ever met this man I would give him my upmost respect. I agree that sometimes euthanasia and assisted suicide can, in the worst situations, be a good thing, but suicide in healthy teens or adults is never the right choice. There is so much good you can do with your life, and so much happiness out there to discover. You cannot dignify suicide, because it leaves behind nothing but guilt, sadness, and a rotting corpse.

  • I think there&#
