Oooh what a lovely vid. You are a kind person to be watching over the babies.. although by now (3 years later) they have well and truly scarpered. lol. Nice to watch the vid. Looks pretty snuggly and warm in there, with no tell-tale signs anything is in there. Only hope dogs didn't sniff them out.
I found a bunch like that last year, but they all unfortunetly died cause the heat was like so HOT!!, but now its a year later in spring and the mother is back, we're thinking she's gonna have babies in the same spot again, This time I wanna help anyway I can to care and nuture for them. I know I should leave them be, but I also wanna make a better and safer home for her cause I live in a busy neighbourhood.
I thought rabbits dig holes in the ground? I saw a rabbit near my back door and it was building some type of structure over a shallow hole. Are the wild ones born with fur on them so they can survive because the hole is not large enough for the adult rabbit to fit in?
its a myth that if you touch them thier mother will neglect them. there is a nest of bunnys in my yard, and i have touched them with my bare hands and i saw thier mother come and feed them today
uhm arent u not supposed to pick up or touch baby bunnies...i remember everyon tellin me tht if u do your scent is on them and the mother wont kno if theyre hers or somin? i dunno...so cute tho <3
I believe that's bullshit. If the rabbit is your pet and knows you well she normally doesn't mind. I heard that they're so fragile when they're new born it's very easy to hurt them. o_o
Never had the whole scent thing happen to a pet rabbit O.o
no its not, thats just a myth. thats only with birds. I know cuz Every year, we have baby bunny's in our backyard and when the mom goes out to eat, I look after them to make sure there safe. I play with them and pick them up, and the mom is there sometimes when I do it!
So cute. Ours left the nest today. I went out to check and it was flat. They couldn't have picked a worse place to nest but the babies did just fine :) I saw them playing at the bottom of the yard this afternoon so they're doing great.
I have to admit though, I was stunned to find that rabbits have their nests in the middle of the yard *lol*... I always thought they lived in long holes in the ground. Live and learn
The babies left the nest a few weeks ago. I am guessing they were about 2 1/2 weeks old when they left. I had been checking on them every day and they really grew up fast, to where there was barely any room in the nest for them all. One day I saw a few of them hopping around near the nest. The next day they were all gone. I am assuming they followed their Mom out during the night. I havent seen them since but sure hope they made it. I have a few videos of Mom plus one more of the babies.
Aww...god I'm sad that ours are going to be leaving soon. I think they're about a week old now? But yes, even now barely enough room for them. They're learning to hop and kick, and making little noises. Hopefully your babies made it ok!!!
@drail80s we had rabbits born under our front porch last year and i still see some of them out side under their favorite tree in my back yard abound 9pm, i decided not to let my dogs out until 1030pm

Are these wild rabbits???
DelicateFynn 2 years ago
their obviously wild if the family found them in a backyard
andrea99056284 2 years ago
Hmm, funny. Around here they're born with their eyes open and are ready to hop about in a few hours. They don't look like wild rabbit's. :/
*rolls eyes*

well your obviously a dumbass. you can see the leaves & sticks. & your not supposed to touch them at all for multple reasons.

they are cute but you are not supposed to pick up any babies from any species. the oil on your hands leaves a scent for the mother,

That's the SAME size as the babies we found in our backyard yesterday - are your bunnies doing ok now?
