I agree that it's not as good as Jimi's version (although once it gets to "Outside in the cold distance" it gets a lot better)....but people should remember that Watchtower wasn't even Jimi's song to begin with, it's Dylan's.

Jimi took Dylan's song, and in covering it, changed it and left his own mark on it. Imagine if people had told Jimi not to cover this song, if they'd said the same things to him that people say here, about how you don't want to butcher the work of a master like Dylan?
