I'm tempted to say that I am 100% aligned with your worldview, but that would smack of a collective/tribalistic response, which would be inappropriate.
So let's settle at 99.6% in agreement with everything you perceive.
What a load'o'crap! Try actually going to uni neo-con idiot. Its all about the market. About skill'n up the individual for individual employer's needs in the market. At uni u compete as an individual with others students academically; then as job seekers professionally. All the once fantastic, rewarding jobs offered by govt & institutions, with some collectivism ethics, have been lost to privatisation. Even student unions r all but dead thanks to their embrace individualism & identity politics.
Oh I forgot to mention your right about the friendship thing...most don't last---except your kids from like infancy or a small town...I don't see how it is possible to have a long lasting friendship with anyone these days. I hope I do find others...when the dollars fails cause I'm going to need help defending my food.
I agree college counselors are inhuman. To a lesser degree, shrinks suck. I don't get what you have against social workers though. Do you mean charity?
@SUpersaiyajinjerkbag Social workers are counselors, too. They are not "charity" workers. Even if they do charity, there are usually strings attached and agendas.
i liked most of what it said, but the slide at 2 minutes i thought was a little narcissistic. Individualism is great, but the downside to it is narcissism, which will turn you into a shallow shell of inflated egotistical jackassery. Self empowering statements are great for people who feel like they are worth less than others, but the truth is you are no better or worse than most people, and even if it might be true, NEVER believe your smarter than anybody else. (because your probably not)
