  • Is there any great difference between applying knots closer to the puncture point vs. directly above the lesion ?

    Thanks for video and tips.

  • Hey check out mine on hotdogs!

  • Good Video Thanks for helping so many interns and nurses

  • What size, number suture would you need if had to go on a" isolated" trip, in case of emergency

  • made some practice in surgery after finished with ER and made my 2 first stiches in the first day damn it was cool

  • I'm not a medical student of any kind, but this is something I would really like to learn to do.

  • I believe Drs and surgical techs can do this. not so much RNs they are busy enough lol

  • RN's can suture... it depends on the setting.

  • do RN's get to do this?

    i hope so!

  • i know rn's are not alowed to do suturing..,

dat would be a malpractice., i havnt seen any buks allowing rns to do suturing..

  • that is not true... plenty of RN's suture.

  • @enjoytheride85 ..enjoytheride is correct. for example in the OR, in combat medical units, suturing by RN's is permitted.

  • 3:05 whats that knot called? isnt there a name for it?

  • woohoo!

  • did he screw up the 3rd time?

  • thank you for the video.

  • yay trauma center <3

  • :))) yea :))

  • local anaesthetic should only be applied by a professional. Injecting a vessel or overdosing can result in a cardiac dysrythmmia and possible death. dont try it

  • but where is the blood, that wound must be in blood no?

  • Adrenaline in with the anaesthetic narrows the local blood vessels reducing the bleeding

  • truth...local anaesthetic..reduce bleeding..D'ont try this at home...making a suture is quiet difficult...it seems simple but ...it sure take's a lot of time to learn..the ..."technique"

  • local anesthetic does not reduce bleeding... if the local anesthetic is mixed with epinephrine it will reduces bleeding...

  • @enjoytheride85 ya but when you suture some one with anesthesie u have to be fast! because after that it will be hard to suture it!!

  • Can I purchase the anesthetic somewhere? I'm wanting to have sutures and and anesthetic in a survival kit.

  • If I was putting it in a survival kit I would not worry about anesthetic... i would more worry about skin prep and dressings... generally in a survival situation the trauma of the event either mentally numbs the wound or the person's in shock... or you just hope they can handle pain lol but generally the suturing hurts less than the pain of the actual injury

  • Good refresher.

  • man im so happy i didnt watch the doc put my sutures in my leg, it looks more painful than it is

  • Thanks for posting this. I needed some review on the knot tying. I feel like I'm all thumbs when I'm doing it but after watching this and practicing again I feel a lot better about it.

  • great help cause tomorrow I have to rotate on emergency trauma and I was forgetting the sutures.. I know have to look up for how to take control in a birth situation

  • and your looking for this info on youtube?!

  • thanks

    gr8 video

  • nicely done....great

  • nice vid. did they stab the poor guy just for this video? heh!

  • It's pretty hard O.o!!!

Well, at least in well teached in this video ^^

I gonna suture in Trauma Center only...

  • I hope the people who watched this video or play trauma center don't think they are professional surgeons now lol

  • No, but that would be cool. XD

  • this is harder than it looks...

  • It's so much easier in Trauma Center New Blood.

  • ...talk about it... i took a med camp, and i broke 3 needles... :)
