Me n my bro climbed it in November great weather most of the way up then it just changed instantly to the coldest iv ever felt the hut thing at the top u were asking what it was in the vid it's just like a rescue shelter nothing much in it
@Alan1600 I climbed it when I was 13, just two years ago, feels great to do it so young. Im going to fort william in a couple of days but not to climb nevis, however im sure ill be back when im like 20 to conquer it once more.
i climbed it yesterday, took 9 lads just under 4hours from the car park. it was freezing, gale force winds hail stones and powering rain.i almost cried the whole way down as i forgot my scarf and my face was gettin pelted my hail at ridiculous speeds!
id say i climbed it in the best possible scottish weather! lololol
i climbed ben nevis only 3 days ago it was hard work walking too the top coz u had too keep taking breaks and stopping theres no way u could reach the top in 2 hours it takes at least 3 hours but it was pretty cloudly when this week but still great
it was 10% visibility on the day we climbed it as well,it was crazy you could hardly see anything. Was in the may that has just passed. i need to upload my video for it
I wish it was that clear when i climbed it 2 weeks ago, it was really cloudy at the summit and i couldnt see 10ft in front of me. Still really enjoyed it though, im going to do it again next year.
i recently climbed Nevis a few weeks ago to scatter my grampas ashes. He was always so fond on Nevis and always participated in the Nevis Race. I believe he was the 5th person to recieve the conochie Plaque for racing Nevis 21 times. and participated in his last race in 1995 at the age of 69! and to have been able to make it up once last time and experience such a view would have been so special for him!
it takes me around three hours to reach the summit but for some reason takes longer to get down if its a clear day its well worth the leg ache..go and see steal falls too its at the far end of glen nevis, if you like your waterfalls you will love it, its a nice walk too.
so thats what it looked like! climbed Nevis in June this year, snow was still there but it was really overcast - made it all the more atmospheric though.
Me and my mates did Ben Nevis a couple of weeks ago. We had a night out in Fort William and after 4 pints of Guinness we set off in a taxi. We started our climb at 11.40pm- got to the summit at 2.30am. Sat in the shelter until 4am and set off down- reaching the bottom at 6am. Short walk back to the hotel and a full breakfast. Great.
loads of bed and breakfasts , check net for phone numbers, its an easy walk as its a good path , no danger on a good sunny day , but always be prepared. also youth hostel at the very start of walk ....also if u have time drive by the hostel heading for the single track road till it gets to the end and follow path towards the ring of steel for an awesome waterfall, only takes 30 mins ...
delete that spam! dam chainmail, strangly enough my mate andy and me were thinking about doing ben nevis next weekend and my name happens to be dan lol.

Was there not a man who climbed up and down Ben Nevis every single day for a year to take readings from the weather station? Way back in the 19th.C.
BillDFC 4 years ago
Yes there was. But he used to do it by packhorse to save his lil' feet. :o
sauerkrauter 4 years ago
Pack horse or not,not many could have achieved such a feat.Imagine it in the winter!
