I watched the beginning of this on TV one Halloween around 25 years ago and have been wanting to see it again ever since but I never knew the title, until now. All I remembered was a vampire crashed through a window to rescue a woman from a satanic cult and there was an awkward romantic element between them. This movie is SO much worse than I remembered, lol. Bad Anime Library indeed. :D

I used to be allowed to rent a video every Saturday from the video-shop when I was about 5 as my weekend treat... and this was the film I used to insist on getting every week. I was obsessed and have vivid memories of crying at the end everytime when I believe Dracula finally gets it ! Oh the innocence of parents in the 80's who assumed that because it was animated it was appropriate for kids. Even I'm shocked by the satan worship at the beginning! Ha! Been looking for this for ages! Thanks!

1980, an animated television movie based on Marvel Comics The Tomb of Dracula was released.The film was called Yami no Teio Kyuketsuki Dracula (Dracula: The Vampire Emperor of Darkness). Much of the main plot was condensed and many characters and subplots were truncated or omitted. The film was animated in Japan by Toei and sparsely released on cable TV in North America in 1983 by Harmony Gold dubbed into English and under the title Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned.

My friends were over my house and we were bored and I started flipping through channels and saw this on a public access channel. It was so bad dialogue wise that we couldn't help but watch the whole thing because it was so damn funny XD

Wow, been wanting to see this for AGES, and frankly this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I really hope a new live action or anime version is made that retains the seriousness of the first two Blade movies is made someday, as I believe it would well worth watching.

I just read about this movie....!

and yes, its based on "The Tomb of Dracula" from Marvel Comics.

I always thought Dracula would be dorky ....but that was before i read that comic....amazing, i can recommend it to all :)

This movie is......fun....but doesnt come anywhere near the greatness of the comic :)
