I updated my firmware to v. 2.34, and now I get an error message when cutting from SCAL (Unable to get Device: 19). I am now kicking myself and so mad at myself for updating my software!!! Is there a way to uninstall the update to the firmware so that it will work again??
@charitylaw2003 can you tell me an update of your cricut and scal? I was thinking about updating my cricut, but at the same time very scared to lose the ability t o cut w/scal
Does anyone know of a work-around for those of us that were too stupid to buy SCAL before the lawsuit? I bought my Cricut a few weeks before the lawsuit was settled so I didn't really know how much I would use SCAL.. until it was too late. :-(
Hi Leo- Thanks! But do you know if I use Cricut Craftroom AND update my fimware on the Expression, will that interfere with SCAL? Want to try Craftroom, but not if it messes up my SCAL! Just cut out my stuff for the Advent calendar- pretty excited about that!
That's great news but what about Make the Cut? Does the baby bug, Expression first generation work after the firmeware update with Make the Cut? I hope so, i love your files!!
I have a Mac and now that my Cricut's firmware has been updated through Craftroom it will no longer work with SCAL. SCAL thinks there is no Cricut attached! I wish I had never used Craftroom as I used SCAL so often.
When using the Beta version of the craftroom, I was still able to use my SCAL software but once the final version of the craftroom was released and i installed it, it somehow made the SCAL software not recognize the cricut (it gave me your same error). It altered the drivers on your computer that is why your SCAL cant see it. If you un-install craftroom this removes all the files and SCAL(don't delete use the control panel) then re-install the SCAL and drivers, then you SCAL will work again.
While I'm glad that ppl can still use their SCAL with the updated version of Cricut. I still won't be buying anymore PC products due to their wanting to control everyone and getting all sue happy.
Also if I'm happy with he way my cricut works with my Scal is there any reason that I HAVE to update it? I would really rather not.
