  • I never liked Filmation GB so much but I must admit that this theme is damn good; I always had problems with Filmation series due to the repeated animated sequences although I admit I loved He-Man when I was like 5...

  • This cartoon is just a spinoff from the stupid 1970's series.

  • LET'S GO GO BUSTERS! LET'S GO BUST INTO THE 80s when our CARTOON KICKS ASS!!

  • I liked quite a few of the songs/jingles from this show. Most of them were catchy as hell. They have the series on Netflix right now and when certain tunes play I find myself rewinding parts just so I can hear the tunes again, LOL. I wish I could find the other little cords from this show. The one you posted is cool, but the different ones that used to play throughout every episode were so cool and I can't seem to find them anywhere.

  • probably the only cool theme used in a filmnation cartoon

  • this is not ghostbusters.

  • @GalaxyTAB1000 yes its the first version of ghostbusters

  • this song makes me feel like a rich ultraliberal teenager

  • I <3 it.

  • this shit cranks! xD

  • Hell of a lot better than Ray Parker Jr.

But still not as good as Elmer Bernstein.

  • Al Ataque Caza Fantasmas.

  • (phone ringing) *picks up* ghost:LETS GO GHOSTBUSTERRRRRRS! wolf man:AAARRROOOOOOO

  • Good old times! :)

  • let's gooo ghostbusters! (high five)

  • *❤* Phat beat. ♪ ♩ ♫ ♬

  • "Let's go, Ghost Busters!"

  • way better than Ray Parker

  • MY ACHING SHOCK ABSORBERS!

  • Gho gho gho gho GHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST BUUUUSTERS.

  • Lets Go Ghostbusters! Lets Go. Lets Go!

  • LETS GOOOOOO GHOOOOOSTBUSTERS!

  • I suppose trying to find this on ITunes will result in a brain hemerage?

  • gotta love this show, seriously. maybe not the best animation but still.

  • wow, I remember holding a tape recorder up to the TV to record this theme song.

I loved the organ arpeggiation and the overall haunting popiness.

  • Thats a phat beat, would sound good with a rapper rapping over it.

  • thank you so much zackgb :)

  • No I take that back the Ghost command and Ghost buggy in the box unopened if it can be found as it is very rare could get $800-$1200, $500-600 opened compared to real ghostbusters $250-$275 opened, $350-400 unopened.

  • Funny thing is that Filmation Ghostbusters Is starting to get popular now with the show now being shown on the Qubo Channels Night Owl. The Toys are real hot right now too. A Ghost command with the Ghost Buggy w/ packaging can get $500-$600 if you can find them, while the real ghostbusters firehouse and ecto-1 w/ packaging might get $250-$275. I've seen figures unopened go from $40-$100, $10-$30 opened. Real ghostbusters just slightly less. So don't be so hard on the Filmation version because w

  • I´m gonna cry, THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • I´m gonna cry

  • song lasted till 1:11 lol nice song brings back memory's

  • It's sound alot like "Maneater" By Hall & Oats.

  • @Trumuzicfan192

Yes it does. Especially the sax line.

  • very good

  • this might been a bit crappy...but the song was really sticky!

  • cool

  • Wow I was completely unaware that Filmations GB came 1st. Good information here for sure! Im guessing that theres a dvd set for this show? Im also interested in findng Danger Mouse & Count Duckula. Hit me up if you have any details on the 3.

  • Excellent jam.

  • Let's go Ghostbusters

  • This is awesome thx for uploading!

  • Wow, fantastic! Was just trying to find it! Can I know how you got that? Uber-curious! :O

    Thanks a lot. =)

  • @JohnM3D on the DVD set, there is I believe a storyboard section and this music plays behind it. Very cool. Filmation hit me with the copyright claim on a few things but until I see a CD for sale with the song available or the series music, I don't see how they could possibly lose any money from this as there's no video or anything.

    Like I see their point but it's like..really? :P

  • @zackgb You're absolutely right, by listening to this, it only makes me recall the series even more and want to buy the DVD. :D

  • @zackgb

    Filmation still exists?

  • @SethForsman no

  • @zackgb Filmation can't hit you with a copyright claim. The company hasnt existed for 21 years... You must mean Entertainment Rights or Classic Media, the current owner, who also owns Dick Tracy, Lone Ranger and other classic characters such as Lassie... I wouldnt toy with them, if I were you.

This music is commercially available on the DVD's - if people want them, they need to purchase those. If you want to live in a free economy, this is the price.

  • Comment removed

  • @zackgb Technically, there shouldn't be a Filmation. They were bought by Jean Chalopin at the turn of the 90s, and their shows belong to IDE Entertainment (from Holland, I think). You were probably zapped by them.

  • @JohnM3D +555555550000000000 agreeeeeeeeee

  • Oh shit, you could get crunk off this.

  • Great soundtrack!!

    I have downloaded, Thank you!

Maybe the cartoon was bad but the music bring me a lot of memories.

  • Slick artwork, gripping episodes, great music... you put these three qualities together and you get Filmation's Ghostbusters.

Better than that OTHER Ghostbusters cartoon with its friendly Slimer, blonde Spengler and dreadful storylines. "Real Ghostbusters"? Which one came first then?

Filmation version had a moral for kids to learn at the end of episodes. "Real Ghostbusters" gave the same moral in every episode: "Buy all our merchandise, kids!"

    Filmation Forever. NEVER forgotten.

  • @SASRISGAY .... you say Filmation Forever. NEVER forgotten... filmation no longer exsists???... just curious.

  • @SASRISGAY Absolutely. It's amazing how many people know all about the "Peter, Ray, Egon" Ghostbusters and have never even heard of this show. Well, Filmation"s Ghostbusters came first. There's no disputing that and Filmation's version was light years beyond what they called The "Real" Ghost Busters. Columbia Pictures had to obtain the rights to the name from Filmation for its film. That's right. Filmation's boys came first. Not only that but they did it better.

  • @SASRISGAY It was something about copyrights. Columbia made the movie in 84 but there was a live action version on which this series was based. The characters are the "sons" of the originals. Columbia basically screwed filmation

  • @Refazhe How did they screw Filmation? Lou wasnt stupid, y'know..

They made the movie and had egg on their face, because they hadnt done their research properly and didnt know the name was already trademarked. But Filmation sat down with them and they hammered out a licensing deal so they could use the name for the movie - Lou then turned around, like the smart guy he is, and did an animated series to match Columbias. The ORIGINAL Ghostbusters... screw the ripoffs from Columbia =D

  • @SASRISGAY I remember that i had a few of the action figures from this show and I loved it... I used to watch it on a UHF station on my mamaw's old tv in the army and navy store that she used to own.

  • @SASRISGAY Yes, because youth indoctriation is so much better then teaching kids to stand up to their fears and fight back at them. :/

  • @SASRISGAY Actually this version of The Ghost Busters is the animated sequel to a little known live action series that was broadcast on Saturday mornings in the 70's.

  • @SASRISGAY Complete bullshit. Filmation's Ghostbusters didn't last nearly as long as "The REAL Ghostbusters." The only reason that Filmation created the cartoon was to cash in on the movie hype and claimed that it was a spinoff cartoon of the crappy "Ghost Busters" 1975 live-action version. At least "The Real Ghostbusters" was EXCITING and full of inventive and original ghost creations. The only thing this show proved to be was a complete and utter borefest.

  • @SASRISGAY Yeah well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

  • @SASRISGAY Win quote! There is no arguing with that kind of insane bias!

  • thank you so much!!!!!!!!

  • mp3 link to download added

  • If you wanted to get people to come more you should make a link to download the music.

  • mp3 link added!!

  • for me this one is the best song of all 80's cartoons

  • someone should rap over this

  • Too bad, that the song is a little bit to short for the whole Vid. :(

  • yeah weird, just ignore that, mp3 to download added to info.

  • Cool. :) Thx

  • The beginning of this reminds me of the beginning of the Ducktales theme.

  • This was one of my favorite cartoon when i was a kid.

  • oh man it brings back memory i love the intro theme when i was a kid. i still have it on VHS im going to watch it now.

  • I just converted this to an mp3 and burned it on a cd. I Wonder what people will think as I drive by blasting it in my car? Ha!!

  • lol

  • thanks for uploading, i loved this cartoon as a kid, and preferred it to the real ghostbusters cartoon (although i would watch that too ^^)

  • sounds like a shady version of Hall & Oates, great

  • :D yes" it's like Maneater, isn't it?

  • Lets Go Ghostbusters!

  • I didn't even remember this show until this jogged my memory.

  • I actually saw THIS show before I ever knew about the real ghostbusters show.

  • I just get the first season on DVD, I had a trip to the past almost 20 years, wow, memories!

  • I remember alot of people thought this was supposed to be the official cartoon based on the movie, until the EGB series came out. Even as a child in kindergarten at that time, I was thinking to myself WTF??

  • Fantastic instrumental Ghostbuster.........

  • Great theme song. Ghostbusters may have had the best music all-around of any Filmation cartoon, and that's saying a lot.

  • hey that might be true :o your are right... too bad is wasn't what we spected because of the movie...

  • great cartoon

  • yeah!

i just cant believe i still remeber this one!

  • I never got too much into this show as a kid (I was too young and got confused witht he Real GB, which I loved), however this theme song truly rocked.

  • hs cartoon was based on the original filmation series "The Ghost Busters" from 1975

  • this rocks so hard ^^ i loved that show. LETS GO GHOST BUSTERS XD

  • Dude this was my favorite theme song as a kid and cartoon ....i didnt liek the other ghostbuster or shld i refer to it as the real ghostbusters.

i've had this song stuck in my head for yars until i came across this and ahhh the memories i have now :)

    thanks my firend.

  • Fantastic theme. Thank you. Do you know if there is a version available of the intro, without sound effects but with the lyrics?

  • Ol' School cartoons are my favorite! Especially this one!

  • This theme-song was top notch! I was always a "real" Ghostbusters fan growing up. I liked the Filmation show too, even if it was 2nd rate. The theme song was awsome...and still is!

This is kinda similar to "Never Say Never Again"...not quite a "real" Bond movie..but stull fun to watch.

  • Who composed the music on the show, please? Thanks.

  • Shuki Levy

  • Strange how the composer also did the score to the DIC version.

  • Shuki did a ton of cartoons from the 80s.

  • He also did the music for the early Power Rangers series, the X-Men animated series and the first two seasons of Ocean's dub of Dragonball Z (as in not the American version).

  • It's not listed in any of his credits, or on his website. He did do the music for The Real Ghostbusters, though. I'm actually very curious as to who did *this* theme.

  • Great cartoon. Real Ol' school!

  • Anyone know where to get this vids nowadays ?

  • thanx 4 posting it!! i loved this cartoon a lot!!

  • Eu até achei uns torrents com todos os episódios no google. Não lembro o site, mas foi só digitar "filmation ghostbusters download" no google.

  • I always wanted to find a version like this!

  • The REAL Ghostbusters in my mind. I totally missed this show!

  • I LOVE THIS!!!!!11111

  • Does anyone have this on mp3?

  • I love this show and song!

  • haha now that you mention it. "Woah here she comes"

  • THanks for POsting!!!!!!!

  • zackgb,

pay no attention to the first one above. I don't think it sounds like maneater. It sounds like it's own self. Besides, if Hall & Oates WOULD sing this song, what would the lyrics be?

  • doesn't it sound a little bit like hall & oates - maneater?

  • Of all the Ghostbusters intros posted, I am YET to find the alternative opening: E-hem... they get the call, they enter the elevator. Here they plunge (or fall?) into a shady 'skeleton chamber' - a wacky-cryptic automated assembly line - where thrown and swung from area 2 area, they're are geared up for action and eventually spat out ready to begin the morning's episode. along with the gorilla, there was also a chick introduced to fem it up. Am i the only one who remembers this? WFT?!

  • The 'intro' you speak of is in every single episode when they don their ghostbusting uniforms. Whether or not this was worked into an intro, I can't say.

Also the chick (unless you're thinking of Jessica) was Futura who was the (duh!) future descendant of the Ghostbusters and was in the first or second episode if I remember correctly. Other than those two I don't remember any major female characters.

This was one of my favorite shows growing up, nice to see that others appreciate it as well.

  • Really? it wasn't an intro? I searched about thinking maybe it an ending credit. It was so long ago. Maybe i was wrong about the blond too, maybe she was a associate? - they had a gorilla.

All i know for sure is that I wish I had all the wacky toys again: intricate, spring loaded small-parts and mousetrap-inspired monsters. They don't make 'em like that anymore. Go the 80's...

  • @DoughboyJonesmk2 Oh yes, you are right. This was not an intro it was just the process of getting ready to bust ghosts. This was the point were we as kids were jumping up immidiately and screaming LETS GOOO GHOOSTBUSTAAAS !!! Hahahaahahaha that was so much fun, thx filmation this was hilariuos. Greets from Germany

  • excellent, thanks a lot! I have been searching for this song for many years.

    Thank you!
