If there is no rebirth, then how is one held accountable for one's actions? Say I cause a car accident, no one has seen me, do I simply run away? or do I stop and attend to the injured, knowing if I stop I will be hauled into court for causing the accident? The christian who caused the accident and dies is running away to heaven where god nicely forgives him, while the living victims are left to deal with the pain and suffering.
