Hi, after renting a small speed boat whilst on holiday in Greece and really enjoying the freedom I would be interested in finding out just how affordable can a powered dinghy/rib be? Seagulls seem to be the cheapest option for an outboard, and ive seen ebay dinghys for £50-£100 that are sea worthy. Has anyone made such a vessel? And are there any laws? It wuld be lovely to have a little recreational boat for the summer time at the sea side. Cheers for any advice. :) and happy sailing
could be a leaky head gasket they're a notoriously bad fit, can either fit a new one + some instant gasket to make a seal or get the head & block honed
I'm in the middle of restoring one of these. Don't know much about them to be honest. Its not in terrible shape. Any areas notorious for screwing up on it?
The engine was built to run forever . Exceptions include : rust from inside the fuel tank blocks the pipe. The fuel pipe falls off because the nut is loose because the rust had to be emptied out of the pipe. The engine stops because the rust in the cylinder head stops the engine from cooling properly. The engine stops because it has run out of petrol because the fuel pipe fell off .
Great little motor I am currently restoring a Century 100 an a 40+ and hope to have them both on YouTube. How many knots were doing? Looks like you were really moving for a Seagull.

Change it to run at 25:1, by changing the carb needle. I did my Featherweight 40 this Spring.

Brings back memories. I had one of those on a 14ft day boat about 18 years ago, never let me down!
