  • he's in favor of a astong dollar---how simple can u get?! Thats like saying, when asked his opinion on air pollution, to say he is against it!

  • get em Cenk!

  • 1+1 = 2

    2+2 = 4

    4+4 = 8

    8+8 = 16

    16+16=32

Accumulation of consumption in each doubling period is more that the cumulative to date.

  • bush is a huge fail

  • he makes a good point. thats why I dig tyt.

  • just moved new area

i need someone smart to keep me entertained xD

  • don't blame the energy crisis on bush, it's been going on forever. there was one in the 70s.

Natural gas is a good solution to tide us over until renewable energy becomes economical.

  • Bush did not start the energy crisis, but he sure as fuck didn't help. He may have the worst environmental and energy record of any president in us history.

  • imagine these people actually take over the world and pull a worldwide Holocaust on us?

they will look at all of these videos we did and laugh at us for never standing up for what we believe in

they will have gratification being able to look back on what they've done to us

  • And who owns Exxon Mobile? I'm pretty sure its not some fat cat business tycoon, but a consortium of millions of shareholders primarily right here in the states. They're in the oil delivery business and Net income to revenue is 10%, the American average. The reason they are so big is because they're dealing with the most lucrative natural resource on earth and if you think penalizing them will solve this problem even the slightest bit, you're wrong.

  • I think alot of people, parties, countries are to blame for the energy crisis - not just George Bush. Why cant we use nuclear anymore, or coal to liquids, or shale oil, or drill at ANWR? How about China increasing demand? Or the fact that worldwide oil supply is diminishing? - something we knew was going to happen. Or the speculative futures contracts placed on oil. Is this all Bush's fault?

  • You are not making much sense. You say its all Bushes fault. The president can sign bills in to law or veto them. Congress is the one that has the power here. And the democrats vote down every bill to produce more oil at home.

  • Actually you special retard from 2001 to 2006 there was a republican congress with bush at the white house and nothing happened welcome to bushville.

  • No. Second of all is an expression. It's not a word so there is no incorrect way of saying it. You can say secondly or second of all. It's just an expression.

  • awesome... bush is the worst president in history, your totally right

  • Dude, that was fucking awesome. Props!

  • I worked for a large Oil Company ... it would take about a decade to get the first drop if they start right now.

  • Let alone what will the price be by the time it's drilled.

  • he's such a lying, bullshitter.

    strong dollar people???

    hahahahahahahahaha.

that's like saying they're strong FREEDOM people.

  • lol

  • There is more oil supply than ever, the problem is our government is criminal.

  • mogilny89p, You are right!!!

  • increased supply means cheaper oil.

  • I remember when Bush was running for President & Kerry had a lengthy platform on Energy, but Bush had offered nothing.

Then, finally, Bush was going to reveal his plan during one interview.

Then, when asked what his energy program was, Bush responded, "I know how to talk to the Arabs."

That was it: "I know how to talk to the Arabs." I nearly fell out of my chair.

"I know how to talk to the Arabs." Please dig up the clip on this TO SHOW HOW STUPID THE PEOPLE WERE WHO VOTED FOR HIM.

  • When I came to this country I expected to find lots of intelligent people in here, but that wasn't the case, what a shame!!!!. People here claim this country is the best, I will say, THE BEST in choosing the most STUPID and IGNORANT person to be their president!!!!!

  • we didn't choose bush. the popular vote voted for Gore. the american people voted Gore.

  • GOP has disenfranchised a lot of voters over the past 8 years. They've put in place a lot of faulty voting machines. Don't over-generalize.

  • "thank god george bush is ower presedent" Rudy Guliiani

  • Bush is not a smart man or a good president. But he did not singlehandedly cause the fucking energy crisis. The 200,000,000+ cars sucking up fossil fuels and spewing toxins into the air did. You head is too far to the left to see the whole picture dude.

  • Well techinally the FED which kill the value of the dollar, is techinally under his control.

  • neither is really true-cars themselves don't use up much more gas than they did 7 years ago; the increase in demand by developing countries like India and China played a bigger role. Combine that demand with inflation, lowering confidence in the US$, and unwillingness to sell oil by countries in the Middle East due to our antagonistic and aggressive war policy, and you have a perfect recipe for disaster. Certainly changing any one of those variables would help, but there is no "magic wand."

  • You're right. He sure accelerated it though.

  • Watch the entire show at theyoungturks(.)com

  • haha, you suck. Nationalize your oil ASAP

  • Wait so the Onion's newest report that he will try not to do anymore damage isn't true? lol

  • He totally dident answer her question, he just played around it.

But its Bush, its to be expected.

  • Actually, the REAL oil price hikes and gas price issues took off after the Liberals took over Congress in 2006. Remember nancy Pelosi's Campaign back then? "The Democrats have a solution for the gas problem..." Well...where is it? The REAL issue began when Clinton vetoed the the bill to allow offshore drilling and drilling in ANWR.

  • Actually the real reason why gas prices are going up is because of a 60percent devaluaing of the dollar in the last 7 years under bush.

  • well no... its because for decade after decade the Democrats have forced us to be far too dependent on foreign oil. All the while they are against EVERY other form of energy...fossil fuels, nuclear now there against solar panel arrays and windmill farms. These people wont be happy until we live by candle light...but Im sure they's complain about smoke inhilation, too!

  • it's not about the democrats-republicans. it's about people being assholes. smart guy.

  • I'm afraid you have it 100% backwards. It was Jimmy Carter who first pushed for solar and wind power programs. It was Reagan who didn't care less about solar and in fact riped off solar panels from the White House. Clinton could have done more but had a Republican Congress that kept killing everything. Bush has done everything he could to stop any alternative energy programs. And don't bring up offshore drilling as some magical solution. Even Republicans say it would only lower gas by pennies.

  • Don't be ridiculous! Show me these Democrats against wind farms and solar power.

  • You are a douche bag.

  • Wait... Cenk doesnt look George Bush at all. George Bush is the biggest terrorist on earth.

  • The other issue in this piece was "free trade". American companies have reduced production in the US or left completely. They hire almost slave labor elsewhere, and then they ship the goods back to the US without tariffs. Many of the "new" jobs created here are low paying ones. The dollar isn't backed by anything so it floats based on what the world thinks of the US. The poor and powerless are hurt. Big, intrusive government is not the answer.

  • Right On! The oil companies benefit from off shore or anwar drilling period, end of story. Consumers don't benefit, we just pay and pay and pay.

  • jullie kanker moeder kanker hoerenzonen krijg allemaal de vette kanker mongolen kanker amerikan ga lkkr allemaal dood kanker hoerne jullie kanker moeder

  • fuck you

  • good shit, man. good shit

  • yeah it's taken awhile - a whole seven years of bush! bush is a smug prick, and mccain isn't even smart/secure enough to be smug, so he's just a prick. the kind of smugness bush has = several generations of family money. mccain only married that, so he lives under the threat of having it pulled out from under him. makes for an interesting relationship w/ cruella deville. crack that whip!

  • damn right cenk...you hit it on the head.

  • here's what it is, Cenk - Dollar crisis would be alot worse if the oil price didnt sky rocket ~ since oil is denominated in dollars, increase in prices means an increase in demand for the dollar. the dollar's not backed by gold.

  • The Aus dollar is now worth only about 4c less than the US dollar.... that's scary, it used to be $1AUD for 50c US

  • Haha great point.

i've been saying that for years. they'll say "Our national interests" in reference to oil or whatever.

The trick is they use words like "We" or "Our" to make it sound inclusive to the average joe. As if you or I are going to get some share of stock in Exxon any times soon.

As soon as they get "Our" oil it becomes "Their" profits and "our" funerals.

  • Again, EVERY move this administration is an efficient opportunity it is making for itself as a monster to redistribute wealth away from average American taxpaying citizens to their supporters and friends (and possibly themselves personally). Whay were they so hell-bent on privatizing Social Security? Hmm, a seductive pot of money that their finance sector buddy sharks would love to munch on? EVERY move is this way! This is yet another example and thanks, Cenk, for exposing the obvious truth.

  • The weak US dollar is a direct result of deficit spending. Whenever a nation spends more money than it brings in as tax revenue, it automatically pushes down the value of that nations currency. It has happened EVERY time.

  • uhh..anthonynami2. You should really learn proper English grammar and spelling before you call someone else retarded. Just a suggestion.

  • You CAN NOT be serious...? lol

  • And you, sir, don't understand English grammar.

  • "young terrist turks are retarded left wing hate ful sheep obam votor its lier a whtie guilt" - anthonynami2

Remember kids! If you Drink your schools, Stay in drugs, and Don't do milk. you become successful like anthonynami2. LoL@anthonynami2

  • Cenk, hit it right on the button, but it was setup and started under Clinton's watch with allowing Enron Loophole the merger of Exxon & Mobil and was put into effect under BUSH/CHENEY's watch.

Both Parties are fleecing the country whether you like it or not, because as a whole we're ignorant and divided.

Obama isn't going to take the US out of Iraq when his foreign policy team is packed with Treasonous Clintonites who are War Criminals.

  • Bush can't speak to save his life. We're strong dollar people cause we believe our economy will make a strong dollar which will give everyone a strong dollar.

Sounds exactly like...what makes a soveriegn country soveriegn is that they have been granted soveriegnity and it allows them to be soveriegn.

Anyone's elses head feels like it just wants to explode from the sheer volume of stupidity?

  • why are americans soo stupid to elect bush

  • Half of us didn't vote for him. In fact, half of us voted for the other chap twice.

  • Actually, I was too young to vote in 2000, but in 2004, my vote didn't count anyway because Bush won.

  • ...twice

  • Once. The Supreme Court gave Bush the election in 2000.

  • because we are too busy watching American Idol :)

  • Suscribed! These videos are so good I must keep watching. On a side note, nobody cares what comment you are the same to anybody else who posts a comment that says "first" even though they are 7th...

  • Cenk, wouldn't the oil companies then be able to get crude oil for a cheaper price and thus sell gasoline for a cheaper price? Exxon/Mobil is already making record all-time high profits. What they want right now is stability, to keep the economy addicted to oil. How would cheaper gas 5 years from now hurt us in any way? What benefit do we have by not drilling on our own land? We have the technology and expertise to avoid oil spills.

  • but not to get the oil when we really are gonna need it - when shit really dries up in 20 years.

We will not be off oil for at least 30-50 years so tapping our resources now is putting us in terrible position when ish really hits the fan

  • Your point is invalid the results wouldn't be seen till 2025. If we have technology to avoid oil spills why do oil spills still happen? And even if we do have technology to avoid oil spills what makes you think that the GOP would use it? I suspect rather that they wouldn't to avoid raising taxes and cut spending. That's all they're interested in afterall cut spending and screwing the environment in the process.

  • Well In Canada we have the second largest oil reserves in the world and we still pay more for gas than you do. Do some research... it's not hard to see who gets rich, and it would never be the public at large.
