Just trying to illuminate the issue. The world has a habit of repeating mistakes. 9/11 didn't even wake us up...we spent more energy as a people blaming the Bush administration calling it an inside job, than we did researching the fundamental ideology of the people who attacked us. Well, I devoted my energy to learning about Islam. I wish I had done so at Georgetown, because I devoted enough hours to qualify for my Masters. I'm just saying it's time we called this what it is.
i hate muslims--if anyone has a redundant view and effect on the United States foreign policy it's them--they support the initial terror of a nation far away from their homelands for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with them or their lives, and then "rebel" and wage a religious war when we retaliate by taking the fight your land.
Muslims have been in this country for decades and generations. In fact, most Arab Muslims live comfortably in nearly all white neighborhoods throughout the country. When did you come to your conclusions about them, before, or after 9/11.
i'm not going to lie--i didn't really have a chance to form opinions on islam until after 9-11. however, whatever it may be that you are suggesting, i developed my convictions completely on my own.
i find absolutely nothing wrong with hating radical fundamentalists for killing two thousand innocent people and terrorizing a nation. to see "good" muslim people celebrating in the streets on that day in their part of the world was more than enough to foment my disgust.
It's not intelligent to judge all followers of a religion based on the actions of a few radicals.
NEWS FLASH!
Every religion has it's fanatics and radical extremists. Christianity is full of white hate groups who bomb abortion clinics, threaten other races and commit hate crimes every day. Black and Hispanic Street Gang members claim to belong to the Christian religion and they are the biggest Terrorist within the U.S. They take more lives than Islamic Terrorists.
here's a fact you can add to your list-suicide bombing certainly isn't a christian radical tenet--yet muslims do it and have done it at least every week for the past several years.
I wasn't defending christianity either--i was assaulting a faith that breeds more violence on an individual level than any other religion. no one involved in US gangs prays to god before they kill someone over drugs or territory--that is such a feeble attempt to try and target christianity as a radical faith.
Terrorists didn't kill America, republicans did. Say it loud, say it often, "Republicans are bad on national security." Every Democrat running for national office -- and local offices too, why not? -- should say, "I'm running because Republicans are bad on national security."
9/11 happened on the republicans' watch. Of course, we can't say, absolutely, that it would not have happened if they had not been asleep at the wheel. But we can say that they did not do all they could have done to prevent it. We can say that Bush literally pushed away the warnings.
After 9/11 most of the world feared America's wrath and America's might. By failing to get bin Laden and his gang, then by attacking the wrong country, unleashing chaos, and getting our armed forces into a situation that they can't win, the administration showed the world they have less to fear than they imagined. Let me say once again; REPUBLICANS KILLED AMERICA.
By insulting Muslims you are insulting your own troops, as there are a number of Muslims in the US army. Of course, an intolerant republican moron such as yourself wouldn't mind.
The Bush administration empowered Hezbollah. The 'insurgency' in Iraq was Hezbollah's textbook and their inspiration. If Iraqis could do that to Americans, surely they could do the same to the Israelis. And they have. It's not yet on the record, but it's clear from everyone's conduct, that the administration encouraged the Israelis to 'unleash' their forces against Hezbollah. They probably thought Israel's modern hi-tech armies would quickly smash their enemy.
i have no idea what you're responding to, or why.
so I'll repeat what i've meant this entire time:
"i was assaulting a faith that breeds more violence on an individual level than any other religion"
just because there are moderates who deny such feelings within their faith doesn't mean that violence isn't occuring in the very name of their faith and their god.
i don't care about democrat or republican politics when it comes to something so sinister as a radical faith in islam.
it is truly disgusting as a decent human being that muslim radicals can storm an embassy and kill our servicemembers, but nay saying and merely questioning islam causes such an emotional explosion in the muslim world that authorities issue legal pronouncements equivalent to death warrants. what part of me is fake now?
The guy who did this was a follower of a religion who's leader is a pedophile and who's book clearly says it's ok to kill people just because they aren't Muslim.
That's sickening and fuck islam because any religion that OKs this (no matter what YOU personally believe) is bullshit.
Christiana Actually the only bs I've seen is your statement. Perhaps you've forgotten about the amount of bloodshed under Christianity. Most muslims I know are good people. Your statements only increase their alienation.
Pvt. So Obama is a muslim? Then why did you Glenn Beck lemmings believe he was a racist christian during the Elections? Remember Rev. Wright? You right wingers need to get your lies straight.
While producing an expose of Obama's past a researcher called Wright's church and pretended to be interested in joining. 1 of the questions he asked was:"Can I join the church if I am a Muslim?" Without hesitation the church rep. said "of course". That's neither here nor there. Whether Obama is a Muslim or not isnt a concern but that he attended Wright's Church for 20 years and never heard anything he disagreed w/enough to get up and leave until Wrights racism was exposed during his campaign is.
"...then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war) [...] for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." - Quran 9:5
Islam's god "Allah" looks upon these acts with favor. It's time we Americans start examining the belief system of what has become a growing minority here. Islam is a faith that requires total obedience, and it's adherants allegiance to it, and it's laws above all other laws and oaths.
Next time you try and put a quote from the Qu'ran put the whole quote so it doesn't come across as biased. Actually read the passage. If you open your eyes and look past the obvious than you might actually read the Qu'ran and realize it entices peace and is actually the most peaceful religion in the world. Christianity and Judaism was spread through wars Islam was spread through word of mouth and trade. It was when people the Qu'ran for their own needs did they get the bad rap they have now.
I have read 3 or 4 different transliterations of the Quran, and done so several time and even in different ways. I quoted 9:5 because it was relevant. I abreviated it for the sake of space so I could finish my thought. I have often heard Muslims quote "[...] to kill one person is like killing the whole world.." as a complete quote...did you chastize Them too? Your comment is actually very misleading as well. If you wish, we can dicuss this further right here.
"Then when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." Quran 9:5
Happy?
Your statement that Islam wasn't spread by the sword is false(to be kind). Above all other ideologies Islam was spread by the sword.
Yes, later on the Qu'ran was spread violently, but initially it was spread through merchants. Whether you agree or not, how can you possibly say that an entire group of millions of people are the epidomy of evil and deserve to die? That's horrible and anyone to think that should be ashamed, it's not even remotely logical. In fact far less blood was shed by the spread of Islam than any other religion.
@JMay488 This clown just put 2 debout muslim's in high office One that i know of in the National homeland security The other i know not of This is insanity
So simply because of their faith, they are unfit for the position? What happened to freedom of religion, and all of the values that America holds dear that make us such a great nation? Seriously, that's the most anti-American of all- denying our own people respect and opportunity because they believe in the same prophet that our enemies do. The germans in WW2 were predominately Christian, why weren't Christians in America persecuted? Just as many war crimes are done on behalf of Jesus as they
@XFilmProductions Christians are denied rights in America as we speek! They are to not talk about homosexuality at the pulpit several other topics Thewy are kept from 1st amendment rights! In schools in churches This usurper is an muslim! He is anti christian and denies his baptismal!
Yes, because of their faith. Who Started WWII?...Nazi Germany, not Christian Germany. We Executed Nazi Spies caught in the USA in WWII and bombed cities full of Christians in Germany. Hitler exterminating more Christians than Jews. Dont try to cloud the issue and dont try to equivocate Muslims committing jihad fisabiallah with BS warcrimes committed on behalf of Jesus...they dont exist, as in-there arent any warcrimes being committed in Jesus' name. That makes you full of shit and off topic.
@wideawake123 You ever hear of the Oklahoma City bombing? Guess who did that? A Christian. Yes, Hitler killed more Christians than Jews--but so are Muslim Extremists. They kill Muslims of different branches than their own- like Hitler. Come on dude, your argument is weak.
@XFilmProductions Yeah, I did. Timothy McVeigh an AGNOSTIC/ATHEIST bomb the Murrow Building in response to the Clinton Administration's massacre of scores of American women and children in Waco Tx. and the murder of American women and children at Ruby Ridge. It had nothing at all to do with Christianity, as NPR and PBS recently proclaimed in response to Tavist Smiley's meltdown on Ayaan Hirsi Ali. The McVeigh argument is weak even by the Left's standards. He wasn't a Christian.
@XFilmProductions One more thing...thanks for bringing me back to this forum. Reading the thread, it's quite obvious that I thrashed those who argued on behalf of Islam, what would possess you to call my arguments "weak" is beyond me, especially in light of the fact that you called Tim McVeigh a "Christian" and the OK City bombing "christian terrorisn". As I said, PBS and NPR just rebuked Tavist Smiley in public for suggesting that.
You said:"...initially it[quran] was spread through merchants"
Here's the truth:
Muslim Book 020, Number 4609:
It has been narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Do not take the Qur'an on a journey with you, for I am afraid lost it should fall into the hands of the enemy. The enemy may seize it and may quarrel with you over it.
Initially Islam was spread by the sword.
Mohaamad accepted instant conversions from villages he attacked.
That quote gives no evidence at all. Yes, some blood was shed over spreading Islam- but initially it was all peaceful conversion. If you're that desperate I'll gladly quote some textbooks and post some timelines. Anyways, I just want to ask you- do you sincerely believe that every Muslim is a horrible person and/or terrorist? If you do, I can honestly say I have no respect for you and that perhaps you should take that into consideration as to why they hate people like you so much.
"Initially"? In the entire Meccan period(over 10yrs) there were less than 50 converts to Islam. As a religion Islam failed. Only after the Pledge of Aqaba which anyone can google and the abandonment of religion for the pledge of power by the sword."...a declaration of war against all mankind" and the pillage of the Yathrib Jews did Islam (The political movement) start to grow. Explain how Islam spread initially through Arabia. What was the treaty of Hudabiyah?
Are you an Islamic Fundamentalist? Because if you are you should consider killing yourself and doing the world a favor. Obviously that I dont believe all Muslims are bad people or I wouldnt have spent years learning about islam. There isn't a "textbook" you can recommend that supercedes the Quran, Sunah Tarikh and Sira, all of which I read. I don't care if you "have respect" for me or not. My goal is to expose fundamental Islamic Ideology for what it is...a Death Cult to which Hasan subscribed.
@JMay488 No, it wasn't. The 1st 12 years of Mohammad's preaching managed to win Islam less than 50 converts. As a "religion" Islam flopped in Mecca. It was only after:
1. The Pledge of Aqaba
2. Hijrah to Medina
3. The raising of a bandit army for pay. That Islam had any success and then it was as a political movement based on the spoils of war. Booty mostly robbed from the Jews of Yathrib financed Mohammad's warchest and religio-political movement.
I challenge you to post an aya from the Quran that in context is an (unabrogated) enticement to peace with others of different faiths. I will gladly show exactly why it is a false verse, the context in which it was "reveal"(made up), and the verse that abrogates it. Islam wasn't even spread thoughout Arabia peacefully...that's what makes you comment so funny. I Can't Wait for you to dispute me. Islam didn't even conquer Mecca(literally conquer) peacefully. Come get you metaphoric throat cut.
In Surah (Chapter) Al-Mumtahina, Allah says: Allah forbiddeth you not those who warred not against you on account of religion and drove you not out from your homes, that ye should show them kindness and deal justly with them. Lo! Allah loveth the just dealers. (60:8)
Quran ( 4:90)
Therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to war against them).(4:90)
60:08(early Madina) is abrogated by many Ayat that followed it chronologically...for instance: 48:16
Say unto those of the wandering Arabs who were left behind: Ye will be called against a folk of mighty prowess, to fight them until they surrender; and if ye obey, Allah will give you a fair reward; but if ye turn away as ye did turn away before, He will punish you with a painful doom.
There are even verses in Surah 60 that abrogate #8...60:4 contradicts it ("...There is emnity between us...")!
You're not answering my question- and yeah, you can I can both go back and forth finding quotes to contradict eachother in the Q'ran, so let's just give that up- theres no way to prove whether Islam was spread violently or not because neither of us were there. Just answer, or at least acknowledge, my question.
Not contradict....Abrogate, and Yes...I Am answering your questions. All one need do to determine how Islam spread is read Sirat Rasulallah(the life of the prophet Mohammad)-Ishaq-Hisham-Guillame.
What exactly do you think the "War of Compulsion" was on the Arabian peninsula? How exactly did Charles the Hammer find himself facing an Arab Army on the field at Poitiers France in 732AD? Shall I list the battles and occupations? Who sacked Rome in 846? How's that for answering your questions.
we find verses that abrogate 4:90(abrogate=cancels out, thats the thing about chronology) in the 47th, 48th, 5th, and 9th. There are some doozies here's one: Quran 5:33
"The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief in the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter"
Oh please- every religion has done that to anyone who wages war against them. We American's are saying that about all Muslims now- that since they waged war on us (actually we did on them, but of course thats not convenient for us, so we deny it) we hate them for it and torture them and call them terrorists, etc...don't even go there- thats my point. We make all these claims about why Muslims are so bad when we hate them for reasons that also apply to us. Hypocrisy much?
I'm sorry? "Causing Mischief in the land"...like I'm doing now? "We Americans"? If you are a Muslim...You are that 1st(A Muslim living in Dar al Harb), and an American 2nd. As for who drew 1st blood, that would be Islam: our 1st war as a nation was fought to protect our merchant fleet from the Barbary Pirates. I'll take a break. Fill the forum with fairy-stories and I'll respond later. Dont even try to make this about how bad USA treated Muslims...you dont want to have that discussion with me.
yeah, you're right, americans are total radicals--they almost always yell "God is great" before attempting to blow themselves up in a crowded marketplace, or stealing a plane to fly into a commercial skyscraper.
The obvious truth smacking them in the face as sarcasm approach doesn't work either dude...I know, I tried it. Political Correctness prevents us from defining our enemy and goals...so how are we ever going to win the war if we keep defining enemy attacks on our troops at home and abroad as "contingency operations"?
You're a complete idiot, not every Muslim does that either, you're a fucking moron. And I clearly never said Americans did that either. I hope you burn in hell you racist, stereotypical, close minded bastard. Seriously, maybe thats the attitude and the reason as to why they do those things? How about you actually think about it and stop just assuming that we are always right and every Muslim is evil. Seriously, grow up.
Also, I just did a quick survey of the internet jihadist's anti-western/America videos, and I didn't find a single comment by you decrying them, or protesting about how peaceful Islam was to them...why not? Why aren't you trying to sell that tripe to the fundamentalist Muslims? My guess is that you know already that they would hand you your head...just as I will. You cant justify your false statements with anything from the Quran or Sunnah...I know this because I've researched them in depth.

@wideawake123 The obsession you have with trolling on youtube EVERYDAY is beyond idiocy, it is sick.

What was the treaty of Hudabiyah?
wideawake123 2 years ago
Are you an Islamic Fundamentalist? Because if you are you should consider killing yourself and doing the world a favor. Obviously that I dont believe all Muslims are bad people or I wouldnt have spent years learning about islam. There isn't a "textbook" you can recommend that supercedes the Quran, Sunah Tarikh and Sira, all of which I read. I don't care if you "have respect" for me or not. My goal is to expose fundamental Islamic Ideology for what it is...a Death Cult to which Hasan subscribed.
wideawake123 2 years ago

Gladly.
Quran ( 60:8)
In Surah (Chapter) Al-Mumtahina, Allah says: Allah forbiddeth you not those who warred not against you on account of religion and drove you not out from your homes, that ye should show them kindness and deal justly with them. Lo! Allah loveth the just dealers. (60:8)
Quran ( 4:90)
Therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to war against them).(4:90)
Happy?
JMay488 2 years ago
60:08(early Madina) is abrogated by many Ayat that followed it chronologically...for instance: 48:16
Say unto those of the wandering Arabs who were left behind: Ye will be called against a folk of mighty prowess, to fight them until they surrender; and if ye obey, Allah will give you a fair reward; but if ye turn away as ye did turn away before, He will punish you with a painful doom.
There are even verses in Surah 60 that abrogate #8...60:4 contradicts it ("...There is emnity between us...")!
wideawake123 2 years ago
You're not answering my question- and yeah, you can I can both go back and forth finding quotes to contradict eachother in the Q'ran, so let's just give that up- theres no way to prove whether Islam was spread violently or not because neither of us were there. Just answer, or at least acknowledge, my question.
JMay488 2 years ago
Not contradict....Abrogate, and Yes...I Am answering your questions. All one need do to determine how Islam spread is read Sirat Rasulallah(the life of the prophet Mohammad)-Ishaq-Hisham-Guillame.
What exactly do you think the "War of Compulsion" was on the Arabian peninsula? How exactly did Charles the Hammer find himself facing an Arab Army on the field at Poitiers France in 732AD? Shall I list the battles and occupations? Who sacked Rome in 846? How's that for answering your questions.
wideawake123 2 years ago
we find verses that abrogate 4:90(abrogate=cancels out, thats the thing about chronology) in the 47th, 48th, 5th, and 9th. There are some doozies here's one: Quran 5:33
"The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief in the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter"
wideawake123 2 years ago
Oh please- every religion has done that to anyone who wages war against them. We American's are saying that about all Muslims now- that since they waged war on us (actually we did on them, but of course thats not convenient for us, so we deny it) we hate them for it and torture them and call them terrorists, etc...don't even go there- thats my point. We make all these claims about why Muslims are so bad when we hate them for reasons that also apply to us. Hypocrisy much?
JMay488 2 years ago
Dont even try to make this about how bad USA treated Muslims...you dont want to have that discussion with me.
wideawake123 2 years ago
yeah, you're right, americans are total radicals--they almost always yell "God is great" before attempting to blow themselves up in a crowded marketplace, or stealing a plane to fly into a commercial skyscraper.
what a child's mind you have.
scotthebruce 2 years ago
The obvious truth smacking them in the face as sarcasm approach doesn't work either dude...I know, I tried it. Political Correctness prevents us from defining our enemy and goals...so how are we ever going to win the war if we keep defining enemy attacks on our troops at home and abroad as "contingency operations"?
wideawake123 2 years ago
You're a complete idiot, not every Muslim does that either, you're a fucking moron. And I clearly never said Americans did that either. I hope you burn in hell you racist, stereotypical, close minded bastard. Seriously, maybe thats the attitude and the reason as to why they do those things? How about you actually think about it and stop just assuming that we are always right and every Muslim is evil. Seriously, grow up.
JMay488 2 years ago
Also, I just did a quick survey of the internet jihadist's anti-western/America videos, and I didn't find a single comment by you decrying them, or protesting about how peaceful Islam was to them...why not? Why aren't you trying to sell that tripe to the fundamentalist Muslims? My guess is that you know already that they would hand you your head...just as I will. You cant justify your false statements with anything from the Quran or Sunnah...I know this because I've researched them in depth.
