wow. this matches up with the dream season we had this year. ive been surfing since i was a youth and i went out this year to PP and i couldnt even get one wave they were so fucing big. and everyone was straight up fighting over it.

hate to say it...but steamers aint that good when it's big. just gets all washy...the bigger sets have no shoulder cause they're breaking out further and further.I think a medium sized south west swell is the best for it. for big winter swells there's better spots to go to in santa cruz that handle it better.

i dunno, the tow seemed necessary on some of em. watch the other dude trying to paddle for some the guys gettin towed on. the paddler doesnt catch em. never seen a tow at the lane though.

Looks like at great day at Steamers. I've surfed up and down the West Coast but this was my main spot in the 60s. This is the first time I've ever seen tow in at Steamers, anyway looks like the guys where having fun and that is what It's all about. Thanks for posting this video it brought back some good memories.

whats lame is all the "barking" that goes on in the water. surfing is supposed to get rid of stress not cause it. bottom line dont step on anyones toes and until your confident on your board, go to the spots where your not just a water ornament. it doesnt really matter what board your riding I.E. bodyboard or surfboard. just shut the fuck up and enjoy what this earth has to offer.
