Twister Roller Coaster at Knoebels Amusement Park

Which do you think is better? Front, middle or alllll the way in the back? I usually ride in the 3rd or 4th seat lol I think I am going to try front seat this year. xD

@BubblyMermaids1 That depends on what kind of ride you like. The front definitely has a great view and you will feel a big push from the rear after you crest the tops of the hills. The rear on the other hand will whip you around and is definitely a great ride if you like air time (feeling weightless up out of your seat). I like the back personally for the best ride and to get the full effect of what the coaster can do.

Both wooden-rollercoasters in the park are awesome! I rode on both the Twister and the Phoenix. Trust me. They were not scary. I'm a 13 year old girl. :D

i love this ride.<3 last year me and my friend kelsey went on it and she decided to hold her earrings instead of her pockets which held her tickets and phone and her phone and tickets flew out and it rained that night so her phone got soaked but she got it back the next day, hahahha

I'm going there soon, and I have gone over 68 times already! Here is a tip, wear goggles and you won't have to close your eyes from the wind. And also, stuff soft packs in your clothes to help keep from getting shoved painfully all the time. And don't bring a camera without a VERY strong strap.

Twister was a great addition to the park. Totally different ride than the Phoenix, another piece of coaster history preserved (kind of) and the headchopper on the 2nd hill is hilarious, it gets people every time. It does tend to rattle a bit, especially if she isn't running at capacity. The best ride I had on the Twister was right after a thunderstorm. The thing shrieks.

@milehighmike1 Good observation! In 1998, Knoebels began a new wooden roller coaster project. Seeking to preserve another classic ride the park looked into acquiring the defunct "Mister Twister," a 1964 John Allen design which had been abandoned when the entire Elitch Gardens amusement park was relocated in Denver, Colorado. This time, when space constraints made physically relocating the ride impossible, Knoebels purchased the blueprints and set out to rebuild the roller coaster from scratch.

@REPODONE I am sure it is, but you have to remember that Knobels is a low cost amusement park and wouldn't have the funds to build over the top coasters like the ones at Six Flags. It's because Knobels has free admission and some great rides at reasonable prices, that people keep coming back every year for more.

Love this coaster, great ride. 70 miles from this park, go there every year. 2 good drops, after the first big one, second one has a head chopper, a double helix and high bank turns then. 102 feet high, 52 MPH top speed, and 3,000 something track length, so not the longest, tallest or fastest, but good coaster. Funny when I see first time riders duck their heads and hands in air on the second drop. Thinking they will smack their hands or head into the wooden beam.
