  • I'm playing this tonight, auxiliary percussion!

  • i played trombone in brass orchestra

  • I played trmbn 1. My freshman year. Omg. I hate 16th notes on trombone. It was all good though. Straight division 1 ratings at band and orchestra festival (Michigan) Vicksburg FTW! Our marching band plays at a college level.

  • It's a bit slow....

  • trombone FTW!!

  • i love the bridge to this song!!!

  • Wow, I remember playing this in middle school in the early 90s. It's been well over ten years since I've touched a trumpet, but I still remember how to play the 1st trumpet part for this song.

I also still know "Dawn of a New Day", which is by the same composer and sounds similar to Seagate.

  • i play trumpet but for this song i played french horn 1

  • i did too

  • I played perccusion when I was high school student at concert festival!!! ^0^

  • my school is doing this song for cocert festival =] im playing timpani i love this song

  • my band is playin this, but for the temple block and bongos our drummers lost the original peices of music the day before our first concert so they just made something up and it sounded pretty cool. Love this peice

  • I'm loving the accents. They really show up well. I'm in middle school and my band is playing it for our adjudication. Its a hard piece and we play it exceptionally well. But right after the slow part in the mid section where the accents come back in (i dont know the measure by heart) but we can't seem to play the accents there. We play it fine the first time but then its like fail and it doesn't work.

  • Its easier to actually take the notes out in between the accent eight notes out. Maybe have one on a part playing the notes in between the accented ones.

  • my band played this last week it was good

  • every swearingen piece sounds the same...

Not that thst is a bad thing.

  • I would kill you if you said anything bad about Mr. Swearingen, Taavi.

    Remember that.

  • me too he is awesome so dont insult him

  • you're right. XD. They all have the same, if not similar, climax. His songs are great though. It's easy to learn and sounds great.

  • Temple Block solo FTW. :P

  • YESSS.

The first time we played this at my school and they did that, it was like, the coolest thing ever.

  • My school band is working on this song right now. I wish so bad we sounded like this already lol but it's a really fantastic song. I play French horn and it's just a beautiful piece.

  • My school's concert band took forever just to perfect this song,it was really hard - I mean considering our level of skill in our instruments. The plus side is that it was a really nice song to play to,and I'm happy we went through all the trouble to make it,it was definitely worth it!
