I played trmbn 1. My freshman year. Omg. I hate 16th notes on trombone. It was all good though. Straight division 1 ratings at band and orchestra festival (Michigan) Vicksburg FTW! Our marching band plays at a college level.
Wow, I remember playing this in middle school in the early 90s. It's been well over ten years since I've touched a trumpet, but I still remember how to play the 1st trumpet part for this song.
I also still know "Dawn of a New Day", which is by the same composer and sounds similar to Seagate.
omgsh...i love this song i remeber i palyed this my 7th grade year brings back memories. i remember the 16th notes and everthythin haha. i was first flute.!!!ya ROCK ON FLUTES
my band is playin this, but for the temple block and bongos our drummers lost the original peices of music the day before our first concert so they just made something up and it sounded pretty cool. Love this peice
I'm loving the accents. They really show up well. I'm in middle school and my band is playing it for our adjudication. Its a hard piece and we play it exceptionally well. But right after the slow part in the mid section where the accents come back in (i dont know the measure by heart) but we can't seem to play the accents there. We play it fine the first time but then its like fail and it doesn't work.
Its easier to actually take the notes out in between the accent eight notes out. Maybe have one on a part playing the notes in between the accented ones.
im first chair french horn for symphonic band... and we played this at uga... GREAT FRENCH HORNS.... but i dont belive this is your school... more like the origenal band that played this.......
Geez this piece is just about the easiest thing you can get for a concert band. Before you start great it is, it will never get you a 1st in any decent comps.
we're playing this in band. we're trying to perfect it for contests (i think) so we're working really hard at it. (: i love this song and think its amazingly pretty. i play first flute so we have a lot of the melody. (: yay
dude theres no way that they actually practiced this peice because ive already played this and i know where all the hits are and none were heard in this copy of it.
I played this when I was in school (tuba) and loved it. I'm glad I could hear it on here. Haven't heard it in a long time. Good luck those learning to play it now. It's well worth it.
My school band is working on this song right now. I wish so bad we sounded like this already lol but it's a really fantastic song. I play French horn and it's just a beautiful piece.
My school's concert band took forever just to perfect this song,it was really hard - I mean considering our level of skill in our instruments. The plus side is that it was a really nice song to play to,and I'm happy we went through all the trouble to make it,it was definitely worth it!
