  • Populus candicans, the North American tree that your 'balm of Gilead' likely comes from only grows in North America. Populus candicans has remarkable properties, but you are lying if you say that it's the same Balm of Gilead as is spoken of in the Bible.

    The biblical 'balm of Gilead' which was likely made from Commiphora gileadensis which comes from the middle east, and related to the myrrh tree. This tree does not grow in North America unless you planted yourself a grove.
