The remake for this isn't near as difficult, but at the same time, not nearly as fun, or memorable. This was my favorite game back when I was a kid, and the remake was a fantastic march down memory lane, but I really wanna get a good ol' working SNES again and play this just to have that good feeling of nostalgia. I have the ROM, but it just isn't the same. :/
Anyone else bugged by the fact that Adol doesn't ever talk in the remakes?
@TherathxRikku I am. Even in Oath in Felghana, and Ark of Napishtim, he's silent. It doesn't suit him. he's not a silent hero like Link, he has a voice, and it fits well to hear him talk. I liked the character they gave him in the SNEs version. the remakes, while good quality...just didn't have soul...it felt more like controlling a robot with a sword than anything.
@MabelNormand Ahh, fond memories indeed! I never had anyone to play this with, though I did tend to make some strange fish burble noises when they talked XD That, and...you know...trying to suspend my disbelief that that giant freaking monster thing was a "wild cat"
This was my brother's game and i remember being so scared to play role playing games because i didn't think i could do it............. they were for big kids!!! Nonetheless, i've beat this game many times and can't get tired of it. I love old video games and the music that goes with them!!! <3 why can't i be a kid forever?
@Cellidor yes indeed god damn they dont make videogames like this anymore!!! all we get 2day are fancy graphics and movie like storylines!! but at what cause huh?
im a poor pirate guy who cant afford fancy ps3 plays iso's old school classics so playing snes games that were rehashed on ps2 is a refresher and thank God for the classic console emulators
me and my cousin played the shit out of this game, 13 years ago. we left the first stage on, and taped up and & attack. left it on for a few hours and came out with hella experience.
Heh, I remember doing the same thing when I was young. Of course, when I did it, I held down the button with a handheld exercise weight....which was why one of our controllers now doesn't work >.>
I Fricking loved this game! that is until it became screwy and it couldn't save anymore. But damn was this game hard...i remember i was always near death before i could fight a boss...
the game was defiantly challenging. Also, I hear what your saying about the game going screwy, sometimes for me, it would register the memory and show my saves, but other times it would show them all as blank, it was defiantly very freaky.
well.., kinda, every time i start, it doesn't even begin with a title screen, and i skips right to a new game, which kind of confuses me, when the game starts i don't have any of my saves, so.., idk xD
Ahh, yes, that's one of the in-game mechanics they added. It won't go the the "new game/load game" screen unless there's already a save. Since you're not seeing this, I can only assume its a problem with the cartridge memory. Only way I can see to solve this is to play on an emulator.
If you mean like, improved versions, than yes, there are. The soundtracks from Ys3 - Oat in Felghana are all remastered versions of the songs from this version. There's also the "perfect collection - super arrange version" which has songs much like these ones, but "remixed" as well. depends on what you're looking for.

The way the music starts again like nothing happened after the cat dies always cracked me and my brother up really badly.

Am I the only one who thought that wild-cat leaping at them from the grass was a freaking snake at first?XD

I'd also like to point out that my brother and i would take turns reading the captions in gay voices. Ah how i miss my childhood.

i bought this game used today, and its already screwy xD, if you reset, will your save eventually be registered?
Yuriofwind 2 years ago
hmm, not sure, to be honest. Is your save not registering at all?

ahh, okay then, well thanks dude, at least im not wondering why its not saving anymore xD
Yuriofwind 2 years ago
Doesn't help much for your saves, but I guess it's always good to know, at least. XP

The wild cat looks like a demon. O.o
Ad te first time I played this, I for got to get my weapons/armor, equip them, and then I died... Several times...
MapleData 2 years ago
I did that myself the first few times, I figured you had to run past the enemies to find your first weapon, lol
Cellidor 2 years ago
Yeah, and it was hard to dodge those blue monsters you can "cheat" on to get to max level. You know, in your 2nd video. :P
MapleData 2 years ago
me? cheat? what a preposterous notion! *innocent look*

Hehe. You know what I mean. :P

I assure you I do not! :D
