It's all too common that people believe indicating, especially to change lanes, is something you do mid-move. I think people think it's cool to use minimal blinks of the indicator--it's unsafe. It´s totaly the truck driver´s fault. 1st, by the time he started changing lanes, the Mercedes was already 1/3 on the center lane and in front of him. 2nd. he started blinking at the same time he started changing lanes. First blink for a while then turn. 3rd. He changed lanes way too fast for a truck.

@TheDh0ffryn the truck driver does not have that many or major of blind spots IN FRONT of him the car in front noticed that the truck was two lanes over at the time and made the decision to lane change, and obvisouly did not watch behind them as they moved over(but who the fuck would) the truck driver may have had a MINOR blind spot in front of him, but judging by the placement of the car and his windows, im sure that i could have easily seen the car that was moving into the same lane as me.
The truck driver should have been indicating for longer before changing lanes. It's clear the driver of the merc couldn't have noticed the truck changing lanes as he wasn't there a moment ago and the merc was changing lanes first. The people in the merc should have sued him for damage.

Looks like the truck driver maneuvered his truck intentionally to stop the car from completely spinning around and keeping it going sideways to avoid a more severe crash.

The driver of the Merc' onced worked for channel 9. Deliberatly going too slow in the over-taking lane with the Merc' in the truckies blind spot forcing the truckie staight into there sly hands. The Media Watchdog Enquiry wasn't a coincedence either, that smash was no accident.

This was a set up by a current affairs show in Australia. The accident wasnt planned but the car with the camera was slowing and speeding up to piss off drivers and to make the footage more exciting. There had been a fatal accident the previous week and current affairs shows always do a anti truck story after major accidents. Camera car was also in the fast lane going well below speed limit which is why both vehicles were changing lanes in the first place. LEARN AND RESPECT TRUCK BLIND SPOTS!
Loos like a combination of errors. But after a while you can clearly see the truck speed up and (intentionally?) hit the car - maybe he thought - 'this is my lane buddy, and Im here first'. But...the Merc driver should have been watching 'a bit more' to his right and sped up quicker to avoid this.
Until recently, on most multi-laned roads in Australia with a speed limit of 80 km/h or more, it was a 'Keep Left Unless Overtaking' rule. Clearly the video car moved over once the accident occurred, so why didn't it move over once it had passed the dark coloured Holden Commodore?
In my opinion the driver of the video car for A Current Affair failed to keep left unless overtaking and ultimately caused the accident. .
That truck driver is at fault. As you can see, he turns into the Mercedes and pushes it down the road. I hope that guy in the truck is in trouble and the guy in the car is O.K. and survived.

@TheDh0ffryn the truck driver does not have that many or major of blind spots IN FRONT of him the car in front noticed that the truck was two lanes over at the time and made the decision to lane change, and obvisouly did not watch behind them as they moved over(but who the fuck would) the truck driver may have had a MINOR blind spot in front of him, but judging by the placement of the car and his windows, im sure that i could have easily seen the car that was moving into the same lane as me.

The truck driver should have been indicating for longer before changing lanes. It's clear the driver of the merc couldn't have noticed the truck changing lanes as he wasn't there a moment ago and the merc was changing lanes first. The people in the merc should have sued him for damage.
Bloody truck drivers cause too many accidents on the roads, they should make it harder for them to get a licence.

She should not have been "travelling " in the RIGHT lane - P E R I O D...... The right lane is for passing , you must not travel in the right lane on any road 80kmph or over- it's the LAW. Anyone who thinks this is anyone BUT the truck drivers fault needs to go back for a licence test. its his responsibility to check PROPERLY before changing lanes.

truck driver should have indicated for a lot longer than he did, instead of indicating at the same time as moving into the middle lane.
that way the car, which was ALREADY moving into the middle lane and was alos IN FRONT of the truck. The car might have been able to see the truck indicating and there for "speed up" like alot of you are saying.
but remember this is also in a tunnel with fixed speed cameras throughout.

This was a set up by a current affairs show in Australia. The accident wasnt planned but the car with the camera was slowing and speeding up to piss off drivers and to make the footage more exciting. There had been a fatal accident the previous week and current affairs shows always do a anti truck story after major accidents. Camera car was also in the fast lane going well below speed limit which is why both vehicles were changing lanes in the first place. LEARN AND RESPECT TRUCK BLIND SPOTS!

Loos like a combination of errors. But after a while you can clearly see the truck speed up and (intentionally?) hit the car - maybe he thought - 'this is my lane buddy, and Im here first'. But...the Merc driver should have been watching 'a bit more' to his right and sped up quicker to avoid this.

Until recently, on most multi-laned roads in Australia with a speed limit of 80 km/h or more, it was a 'Keep Left Unless Overtaking' rule. Clearly the video car moved over once the accident occurred, so why didn't it move over once it had passed the dark coloured Holden Commodore?
In my opinion the driver of the video car for A Current Affair failed to keep left unless overtaking and ultimately caused the accident. .

That truck driver is at fault. As you can see, he turns into the Mercedes and pushes it down the road. I hope that guy in the truck is in trouble and the guy in the car is O.K. and survived.

No. The truck is in the right. He has right of way. This is a classic example of cars not obeying road rules & not giving the truck right of way. If you were an Australian, you would know this.

@johnyringoz If you watch the video, you can clearly see that the truck took the lane that was occupied by the car. I already know that Australia is a right-hand drive country. The truck wasn't in the appropriate lane.

this accident could have been avoided. the lane was free until the car merged. the car should have waited until it was at least, ready, listen carefully, at least 50 metres in front.
not half a foot like you see in the video.
I don't know how you got your license. It's got me fucked. It really does. You don't know a thing about Australian roads, and how the the rules work in the real world. You are the worse type, you would rather crash then try to avoid and accident.

@johnyringoz Mate I've never had one accident with truck or car or any other object. i know exactly how the road rules in Australia work and there is no such rule stating that you need to be 50 meters in front of a truck two lanes away before changing. the truck indicated for about 1 second before making the move which is just fucking stupid. you need to check the rules of the road yourself. Also Im Straight and not a Fagoot as you call it.

you still dont get it, do you? this video is SHOWING an accident. its not about what accidents you've had mate, its got nothing to do with it. the point i'm making, the point which you fail to comprehend is in the "real world", accidents CAN BE EASISLY AVOIDED, especially with trucks - because of the trucks size, braking distance, blind spots & some have been on the road for over 12 hours of driving, its COMMON COURTESY IN AUSTRALIA, TO LET THE TRUCKS HAVE THE ROAD !
