Somebody needs to take the original tape and get it restored (UCLA TV Archive?). This tape was reported as LOST on the Hendrix BBC CD, so the BBC does NOT have a copy (But at least they saved a lot of money on new videotape by reusing old tapes and taping over old shows)

i'll tell you another thing that i just recently discovered: in MachineGun at Filmore East, towards the end of the song, Hendrix' guitar sings "toora loora loor" in Frank Sinatra's or Bing Crosby's voice. also in WildThing at Monterey it sings "Strangers In The Night." by Sinatra. he taps it out with one hand, fcol!

i tell you what, @0:30 -0:32 that little country-western rock-a-billy lick or riff, or what Ever it is, is QUITE a paradox coming from a person who's electric and futuristic as Hendrix was&is. it's like seeing CharlieDaniels naturally having fun and jamming at a hip-hop spot. ya know?

@dbrassio not really. Hendrix quoted from classical, jazz, rock (all styles)...and obviously blues...Miles Davis (a jazz trumpet legend) considered him the best guitarist ever. I think (unfortunately) it was toward the very end of his life (late '69 on) that Jimi started to touch on this "fusion" side of him (jazz/rock, etc)
