Doesn't make any sense that the ladder company would find it necessary to vent the roof at this fire. Don't mean to hate but if this was my house I would have went up to the roof to stop you. There was no smoke even coming out of the hole once you opened up. Guys didn't check the cockloft for extension????? NO excuse. sorry

they really didnt need to smash out all the windows, and they didnt need to vent the roof either. Also on our department when you vent the roof you are to have your face mask on...

It seems like they vent the roof at EVERY fire they go to no matter how big or small it is. Its a bad habit that a lot of departments in that area have. And you're right about roof drills. Use a flathead axe backwards next time!!!!

I'm pretty sure roof ventilation was NOT needed for this structure fire. Also, breaking every window in the house was probably not needed either. LOL
