The helicopter video wasn't diplomatic--had Bradley Manning released just that I might be partial in his favor; but he released thousands of unrelated diplomatic cables. He did it for ideological reasons, he put the "hacker’s code" and political agenda above national interests. The helicopter video wasn't diplomatic--had Bradley Manning released just that I might be partial in his favor; but he released thousands of unrelated diplomatic cables. He did it for ideological reasons, he put the "hacker’s code" and political agenda above national interests. The Uniform Code of Military Justice gives soldiers some important reprieves from orders which may constitute unethical or immoral actions. However Pvt. manning was not ordered to do anything immoral—he was not asked to shoot or kill--his job as an intelligence analyst was to sift data, track the battle field, and make recommendations. This was not civil disobedience, or a moral prerogative, it was a betrayal.

Manning can be held forever as an enemy spy, combatant and traitor per President Cheney's rules when he was in office, (sorry, I meant to say Puppet Bush), I also think he is a whistle blower but went overboard in what "allegedly" he released.
