It's a reference to how the peacock is kinda ugly til it shows its feathers. she wants to see his feathers. For those talking about a new album, she's re-releasing Teenage Dream but a deluxe album and I think it was two singles will be released from it. One is rumoured to be called 'Dressin Up', it's on YouTube now and it's been rumoured for the second single of the re-release is a duet with RiRi. Anyway, I hope on her next album there are more ballads/heartfelt songs, the slower, and other excuses for Ballads on TD are crud compared to OFTB. I still love the "OLD" and "NEW" katy though.
i definitely don't think this song is about suicide.. more about the death of who she used to be when she was with whoever she's singing to and how she's becoming a new and better person and living (almost literally "breathing") without them. that she's more alive than ever lol
I think we've all noticed that Katy releases party songs like I Kissed A Girl and Last Friday Night, but her albums have some real personal stuff. Well, I think that Katy wants to save the personal stuff for the people who like her enough to actually buy her album. 'Cos they're her real fans. It might sound silly, but she might even be too SHY to release her songs that have a load of meaning, because people who don't like her wouldn't hear it properly.

She has her fun side, drinking Peacocks, and then she has her deep and sensitive songs like this and Pearl. all artist have to do this just to make sure they are indulging everone's likes. She is a very popular Artist now and this is because she has a wide spread of songs. I think that if she did an Album with both kinds it would sell tremendously

A few years ago two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to see if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said "Get the kids and get out of the house, we'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue". The "clown statue" was actually a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this on 10 videos tonight the clown will be in your bed at 3:00am with a chainsaw in his hand. @supermereturns the peacock video is NOT sexual. In the beginning she says something about who he really is. It's a reference to how the peacock is kinda ugly til it shows its feathers. she wants to see his feathers. NOT his "peacock". i cant say that much for E.T. im not sure where she was going with that one

For those talking about a new album, she's re-releasing Teenage Dream but a deluxe album and I think it was two singles will be released from it. One is rumoured to be called 'Dressin Up', it's on YouTube now and it's been rumoured for the second single of the re-release is a duet with RiRi. Anyway, I hope on her next album there are more ballads/heartfelt songs, the slower, and other excuses for Ballads on TD are crud compared to OFTB. I still love the "OLD" and "NEW" katy though.

i definitely don't think this song is about suicide.. more about the death of who she used to be when she was with whoever she's singing to and how she's becoming a new and better person and living (almost literally "breathing") without them. that she's more alive than ever lol

This is my theory you guys..bare with me..
I think we've all noticed that Katy releases party songs like I Kissed A Girl and Last Friday Night, but her albums have some real personal stuff. Well, I think that Katy wants to save the personal stuff for the people who like her enough to actually buy her album. 'Cos they're her real fans. It might sound silly, but she might even be too SHY to release her songs that have a load of meaning, because people who don't like her wouldn't hear it properly.

I was really hoping for songs like this on Teenage Dream when I bought it on the day of release, and I was sad to see there were none :(
I love Katy's current music, and I'm glad she's doing so well, but One Of The Boys is a PERFECT album! No filler tracks, just amazing songs!!
Here's hoping she will make her 3rd album a cross between her old stuff and her new stuff! Now that would be an incredible album!!

@SpearsProductions Not looking for a fight, but I disagree. Pearl, Who am I living for?, and more are a lot like some of the songs on One of The Boys, but the ones that aren't, are more mainstream. More people like the other side of Katy, that I don't care for. I love her no matter what, but I always listen to the songs that mean something and aren't about drinking, or peacocks.

She has her fun side, drinking Peacocks, and then she has her deep and sensitive songs like this and Pearl. all artist have to do this just to make sure they are indulging everone's likes. She is a very popular Artist now and this is because she has a wide spread of songs. I think that if she did an Album with both kinds it would sell tremendously
