@MrPilotman360 You'll need Sony's type of memory card, the MemoryStick, for the camera but the brand doesn't have to be Sony. It can be a SandDisk or something.

Unfortunately, it doesn't. It has a separate port for the charging cable.

can any one please tell me a good editing software ? i dont have a mac i have a windows 7 hp desktop

The problem is that Windows doesn't have a lot of great editing apps. The best is Premiere Pro, which is very good, but it costs a lot of money and needs a lot of RAM and processing power. The other one is Sony Vegas, its cheaper, about 300 I think (I could be wrong) but I don't think its that great.

i was looking for good camcorders and have done thousands of searches and reading reviews to find the best buy and the flip mino, ultra and ultra hd wernt the best they have many cons iv tried them in real life experiances and also other brands such as the "vado" and the so called awesome "sony webbie" but they have many cons so the i narrowed it down to the sanyo xacti hd 1010 or the 1000 either one there a good buy and read about it first its a good buy! i love it

i do not know if this is true or not but i was on cnet and looking at the review of this and someone said that it can record max up to 25 min per clip? even if you have a large memory card??? plz answer this question this is the only thing is drawing me back from buying this camcorder

Sorry, but I can't answer that question, I've never tried that before. But don't let that hold you back from buying the cam, 25 minutes is a lot, and not only will it be hard to actually find something to record for 25 minutes strait, but importing one really long clip isn't something recommended.

I chose this over the Flip Mino HD because it was cheaper, had the option for 720p 1080p and 640x480. And because it had a memory stick, so i could just cary a few with my for expandable storage

As long as it's atleast a few gigabytes in size since it's video and not game save files. You will also need to erase everything on that PSP memory stick.

i have a 4 gig memory stick and only used about 1.3 gigs so do i still have to delete everything?

Yes. Since it's already being used for game save files. It's best witha clean card.

thanks im gunna put all my memory on a 1gig stick and use the 4 gig....how much recording time will that get?

I have a 8GB stick and it gives me about 4.5 hours of 720p footage (which is the setting i recommend the most, 1080p doesn't look as good with this camera as it should) so i guess you could cut that in half and you'll get your estimate for the 4 GB stick.

thanks so about 2 hours..... well good enough till i get some more money to buy a 16gb, oh and 1080p doesnt look so good because youtube "demotes" it to 720p.

its not even that, even the raw video looks bad compared the 720p. The viewing angle is wider in 720 and it just looks better overall lol

Read the comments, MauricioZ05 said Movie Maker doesn't take the files. I am a Mac user and I used professional editing software so I don't know what works or doesn't work with Movie Maker. Sorry.

It does, though I recommend you get a normal digital camera to take pictures.

Because this is a video camera, so it isn't going to take pictures as good as a normal digital cam would.

what im hesitant on is when u download it saves the video as mp4 and i edit my videos on windows movie maker and that is only compatible with avi wmv not mp4.any advice ?

Sorry, I don't have a Windows computer, so I don't know much about editing on Windows software. But, my friend uses a program called Sony Vegas, it isnt free, but it can edit formats like that.
