The story is a bit weak, Carol Neblett's acting somewhat hammy but Fanciulla contains some of Puccini's finest music. I saw this cast conducted by Zubin Mehta who did a better job than Santi, it was a stunning production designed by Ken Adam.

@TheVaughan5 Santi might not be as sexy as Mehta but he certainly did a perfectly idiomatic piece of conducting (and without using a score),compared with Mehta who according to Domingo sightread both the performances and the recording on DGG!
