The problem with local comps and exposure is that if your still not willing to put yourself out there and travel, you might not get anywhere in the industry to any extent. I can count a number of skaters at the local park who have nabbed local sponsors and haven't gone anywhere with skateboarding. Major comps attract major sponsors(thats if you care about comps) while major media does as well. Im just saying, if you dont know industry guys, its naturally tougher to get higher than "flow."

C: Hes marketable. Cant dispute that.

Basically, if you wanna go somewhere, you have to know the local shops. Know the local talent. Hit the scenes. Try to get footy and photos. And if it comes to it, be ready to head to cali and put in work. Its just how things are.
