"You pay a bit more" No, you pay a lot more. My PC cost me $1,300 to build, Alienware would charge $2,500 for the same components. It'd be free and take up 2 hours of your precious time to learn to build a PC with the Newegg "How to Build a PC" series of videos. And then for your first build it will maybe take you a max of 3 hours to complete the build and install drivers. If you buy Alienware you are 1 of 2 things: Too lazy or too stupid to build your own PC.
Do you all realize that you can haggle (if you're polite and patient) with alienware if you call them...By using coupons / sales you can get like 5-25% off.(helps to be a preferred customer through your work) I bought the r4 recently, and it turned out cheaper than if I bought the parts individually and built it myself. I did not downgrade the chasis/MB/cooling in my calculation and then say something like "I built my pc for half what alienware charges.."(duh) They are too much full price though
at over 6k, let me get better than dual what was it? 1G 555's?
And use a different motherboard. If you want to label yourselves as 'gaming computers' I want the space for quad cards, a sound card and another express slot maybe. Dedicated physx, or wireless internet? Just in case someone would want them options. 2 cards should not fill the mother baord. I couldn't even get the 2 cards and sound card. You're kidding me. Your laptops should not surpass your desktops in terms of specs, guys.
@Zlykin Better yet, just let people buy your cases. For some reason, most high end cases are bland as hell. Corsair 800, right at you. Antec 1200 isnt any better.
@Zlykin Your completly right, if haven't already build your own like me xD I might not have a six core cpu, but who gives a fuck I have a gtx 570 oced and i5 2500k oced to 4.5ghz, no ssd yet but anyway, still better in gaming:D Battlefield 3 on Ultra with antialiasing on max, everything on it's max and still stable 50-60fps. I bet alienware can't beat that even with dual gtx 560's xD
@mrali95 Oh yes, Ive got my own tower, and i did build it. My specs are actually similar to yours, although my 570 is about the shittiest one you could get (PNY basic 570)(i bought it based on what was locally available, not online, and being less experienced than i am now) Asus motherboard tons of slots, 16G ram(lol) reguklar 7200 hd and an intel 950, i beleive, at i forget the hrtz, but its stock. All in a haf 932 case. It does the job. Im looking to upgrade soon.
@Zlykin Sounds nice, I might get an ssd and some new fans to be able to go even higher with my overclocking especially the gpu. Other than that I won't upgrade untill atleast next year, bought my current pc like 6 months ago.
lol i have better pc specs than this (64GB SSD, 2x1TB hdd, 16GB 2133mhz quad channel ram, i7 6core @4.1ghz, and 2xgtx 560 ti in SLI) but i built it for just under 2000usd i admit my case isnt quite as spiffy but i really couldn't careless, a case isn't worth the extra 1000usd.
Wow it has two amd gpu's, but wait which ones is it? Don't u know anything about that pc. Well I can tell u some, alienware is ugly and waaaaaay overpriced that's all we need to know!!! :D
@AJFedora are u stupid, custom pc's will look just how u want it too, u don't need to buy the ugliest case on the market like that alienware. Those automatic functions will break after a week and u do get better support with custom builds if your buying the right stuff at the right place, dude:D
@mrali95 Hahah no i'm not stupid man :P I'm just saying, people say Custom PC's are cheaper than Alienware, true, but if you want a custom pc with awesome quality and performance, it'll cost you about 1000$, same price range as the Alienware x51.
@AJFedora hahah, custom pc's are way cheaper than alienware. U get more performance from a custom pc if u pay just half of what u'll pay for an alienware. Don't u know anything about pc components? I build my own pc and if I would gone for an alienware with same specs I would have to pay twice as much as I did for my build, so it's far from cheap :D
@AJFedora If u wanna get the same graphics card as I use in my custom pc u would have to cut your case to fit it in their. The best cards u can buy with alienware is gtx 560ti's which is far from the best cards u can get. Myself I only have a single gtx 570, but it's still much better than 560's and even more important is that I got 1280mb vram instead of only 1gb as a 560. So u won't be able to out max most new games. I could also continue all day about whats bad with that small case.
@AJFedora On my own custom pc I have from 1year up to 7years of warranty on each hardware, so if something stops working I'll get a new component :D and custom pc's is only ugly if u buy ugly cases or ugly hardware, that's only up to u. U can't even buy an alieanware with a decent graphics card, only up to dual gtx 560's which isn't that extreme. Their might be some resellers which customize the pc's, but then the warranty breaks unlike my custom pc xD
to say the truth they build good pc theres no dout that if you buy one you will be disaponted but there prices now are mad you can actually build a better on for much less and if you dont know how ask some one if they can build it for you but some one you can trust!!!!
LOL, Alienware. I remember when they were a legitimate boutique PC outfit before they got bought out and gutted by Dell. They were something to behold back then. Now, it's all cheaply branded Foxconn bargain hardware, riced-out proprietary cases, and insane markups. These systems are for people with more money than sense (monetary and aesthetic). I think I'll save myself a grand and build something superior to this junk. Ivy Bridge is only a few weeks away. ;D
All the comments i read are people not able to buy one. This is most definetly not overpriced since it has good cooling and overclocking options. It costs 400 dollars less in europe and it even comes with cool keyboard and mouse. go build your own overheating piece a junk.
if u want to build a computer with a alien war case! just look up Barebone case i found a alien ware barebone case for $134 on ebay and got it now with no sctraches no thing still now just get case and u can re build it under $800.

@DaMiAn3x4FUN hi can you tell me if i wanna do a fully built and better pc how much will it cost me the only thing i want it to be is fast and not to do the noise like a motor and need a good grafic card
just went to look at this on the website and trying to match parts that i could with mine this computer is almost double the amount i payed for mine. Considering i bought a new 27" samsung monitor as well as a new razer mouse and keyboard and its still cheaper is pretty sad. Dell is starting to get out of hand with this now
people who complains about this pc simply can't afford it, end of story. Alienware is a great, strong pc, i've had mine R3 for about 3 years now and it still runs as if it was new, and that is because i take care of the pc, clean it every 3-4 months, make sure everything is updated and working, for those who complained that their alienwares doesn't work after 1-2 years are not careful enough, you gotta take care of the things you buy otherwise that shit happens.
@hugh705 it does run hot cooling in the case is pethetic...actually on the older alienware cases if you took all the plastic fancy crap it looked like a fractal core 1000 that retails for about $25
got a aurora r2 and hawe got it for abot 1,5 yers and my motherbord is failed it cant provide enughe power to the cpu and half of my sata motherbor controlers is dead and a gtx 570 docent fit i payd 1500 euro for a pc that culdent even handel wow plz dont buy you will regret it got an i5 and its working att 100%during bfbc2 yust dont buy! buy fsomthing from komplet or inet those are much more priseworthy

you guys are all stupid posting about cyber pc, because i understand u could build that for cheaper but , if your buying an alienware its a luxery item ur not lookin to save money your getting a little extra.
i love the design and cool light who turns on when you open the case! :D the problem is the pc is very ekspensive :D you can build a pc with the same settings for a better price :)
why dont you sell only the cases? tthey are fantastic :D
@Aaroncroy252016 your a dickhead cause you could have got a really good computer for less then half of what you paid and you would still have money left over to buy other shit thats useful in life
I read a lot of people talking about, "it's too expensive" or "you can build a better pc for way cheaper". I'm curious though because while I understand any name brand is going to have certain price increases just for the name doesn't this computer also come with warranties. To me if I build my own pc and then lightening hits it... I'm fooked no?
To me an extra 300-500$ for peace of mind is worth it on a 1.5k investment. Thats what my taxes is for!
@shadex582 you wont have peice of mind whats so ever, dell has very pure support when it comes to faults.
building a pc you still have warrenty with the shop and the company who made that product incase summit goes wrong...failing that 99% of pc shops will build ur pc with the parts you choose and will still work out cheaper......alienware are selling a small desktop for £600 I have a itx gming pc that is smaller and better hardware that only cost me £570 and that included a ssd
@GuitariFiiling why would you even RUN 3 monitors? What purpose does that serve? I can barely pay attention to 1 screen at a time, let alone MW3 on one screen, the newest transformers movie on the next, and my personal music on the other (these are examples, NOT MY CHOICES IF I DID HAVE 3).
btw im not raging. I really am just asking, sorry if it seems as though i am raging:(
@robloxfan459 why indeed, i wouldnt want it. Just claiming that 3 monitor 3d gaming is not possible. YET. and 3 monitors would server the porpouse of playing games such as mw3 on triple monitor, making the three one big monitor with a huge and therefore more detailed resolution. In conclusion its an stupid overkill :D
@PatchowPietro because the reliability was horrible. trust me i owned an area-51 pc. after constant breaking and no place able to repair it i was forced to do repairs myself.
for all you people bashing alenware.. own one and then talk. i bought an alienware area-51 pc in 2006.. paid $2800, it was crap. kept breaking. eventually it caught fire. now with that said.. alienware is like a Mercedes. your paying for the name, and you can get alot better for less. on another note. i did buy my alienware before dell bought them out, so i do not know how the reliability is nowadays. but back when i got mine it was horrendous.
@fshlps exactly. and the aurora is not very upgradable either. it uses a microatx board with only 2 pci-e x16 slots and they are both filled. makes you wonder with a micro-atx board why the case is so big/long? and i agree completely with you. cyberpowerpc has much better computers for much less if you do not want to build yourself.

I really wished this didn't cost so much, they got rid of the cheaper systems because of this and now it starts at $2200 Alienware are going the way of Apple, where you have to spend over $3000 starting for a great computer set up, it's sad especially when they come up with model almost every year and it makes you feel like you have to upgrade every year or your computer is trash.
Now that Alienware is owned by Dell-----FUCK THEM

people who complains about this pc simply can't afford it, end of story.

There is no room in that case for upgrades. It must run hot.
hugh705 2 weeks ago
@hugh705 it does run hot cooling in the case is pethetic...actually on the older alienware cases if you took all the plastic fancy crap it looked like a fractal core 1000 that retails for about $25

can i just point out not everyone has the ability to MAKE a computer? I love computers, but unless its on the monitor, im not the most technical guy:(
also, im afraid half the time im going to bump something, break it, then end up paying like 300 dollars to get one tiny little diode fixed.

a DIY pc is far from being "brandless".
all the high end components come with individual warranties that range from 2 to 5 years.
just put my rig together and it is half the price and double the specs of an alienware...
i was considering alienware but i can't understand the really high and unrealistic price point.

030terror 1 month ago
I read a lot of people talking about, "it's too expensive" or "you can build a better pc for way cheaper". I'm curious though because while I understand any name brand is going to have certain price increases just for the name doesn't this computer also come with warranties. To me if I build my own pc and then lightening hits it... I'm fooked no?
To me an extra 300-500$ for peace of mind is worth it on a 1.5k investment. Thats what my taxes is for!
Also new one doesn't have fins...correct?
shadex582 1 month ago
@shadex582 thank god someone sees it the way i do:)
robloxfan459 1 month ago
@shadex582 you wont have peice of mind whats so ever, dell has very pure support when it comes to faults.
building a pc you still have warrenty with the shop and the company who made that product incase summit goes wrong...failing that 99% of pc shops will build ur pc with the parts you choose and will still work out cheaper......alienware are selling a small desktop for £600 I have a itx gming pc that is smaller and better hardware that only cost me £570 and that included a ssd
cyberboy109 2 weeks ago
@shadex582 When you buy stuff at a retailer you get warranty too...

GuitariFiiling 1 month ago
@GuitariFiiling Lol :P u welcome xD
Buttfuckbysquirl 1 month ago
@GuitariFiiling why would you even RUN 3 monitors? What purpose does that serve? I can barely pay attention to 1 screen at a time, let alone MW3 on one screen, the newest transformers movie on the next, and my personal music on the other (these are examples, NOT MY CHOICES IF I DID HAVE 3).
btw im not raging. I really am just asking, sorry if it seems as though i am raging:(
robloxfan459 1 month ago
@robloxfan459 why indeed, i wouldnt want it. Just claiming that 3 monitor 3d gaming is not possible. YET. and 3 monitors would server the porpouse of playing games such as mw3 on triple monitor, making the three one big monitor with a huge and therefore more detailed resolution. In conclusion its an stupid overkill :D
GuitariFiiling 1 month ago
@PatchowPietro because the reliability was horrible. trust me i owned an area-51 pc. after constant breaking and no place able to repair it i was forced to do repairs myself.

@PatchowPietro The new Aurora has better specs, cheaper, and I think it's lighter.

Why was the Area-51 scrapped?
thejestersworld 1 month ago
for all you people bashing alenware.. own one and then talk. i bought an alienware area-51 pc in 2006.. paid $2800, it was crap. kept breaking. eventually it caught fire. now with that said.. alienware is like a Mercedes. your paying for the name, and you can get alot better for less. on another note. i did buy my alienware before dell bought them out, so i do not know how the reliability is nowadays. but back when i got mine it was horrendous.

@thejestersworld lol Alienware Aurora start at 1100 € and more +++ to up! And it is a nice Pc ,but for the money you can build you are better Pc´s
